Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's raining here, what a miserable start to the day.
I slept better last night, so feel quite spry this morning.
The dgc's Nana will be coming later to whisk them away to the Metrocentre, then dgs is coming back here for the night.
I've got the usual jobs to do, and a bit of shopping.
Glad you had a nice meet up with your cousins, Rosy.
You're busy as usual Izzy.
Hope everyone else is ok and has good days.
Take care folks.13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for the new Daily. We are due a day of light rain says the weatherman. What's new! Although yesterday they were wrong and we got sunshine with none of the promised rain.
Highlight of today is to be Sainsbury's with DS. Sadly not until late morning as he has to work. I expect it to be busy at that time. Mostly f & v and fridge stuff and absolutely nothing for the freezers. I sometimes wonder what I eat as stocks never seem to go down in them. I should have defrosted the tall one before we lost the mild weather as it's blooming cold out in that garage.
Other than the excitement of that there are the usual jobs waiting in the wings if I cba. Tonight will be Strictly as always, accompanied by the bag of sweeties which will probably fall in my trolly at the SM.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. IZZY I hope you enjoyed last night. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning all
My lurgy is still lingering but it’s more annoying than anything else and worse at night.Last craft fair this afternoon - not one I’ve done before and I don’t have high expectations but a friend is there too so will hope to be pleasantly surprised.I managed a load of cleaning yesterday, some more tomorrow and it’ll be fit for some decorations to be put up.Hope everyone has a good day

I’m still lingering in bed. Read the papers, did a few puzzles, watched a spider creep around the ceiling and pondered for a while. 😆
The sausage and mash was lovely yesterday. Today I have defrosted liver, probably more mash and some onions too. I’m getting space in the freezer bit by bit.The invoice came in for my op, swallowed hard before paying it. I really can’t carry on in this state and with an approx waiting time of a year for NHS needs must. Of course the family have all urged me to get sorted so I will!!Same post brought me a follow up appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon. That’s not such a long time since the MRI last month. The appointment is next week in Glasgow, should be interesting.I did a couple of online cheese orders for friends and have one left to do. The Christmas chocolate and hot chocolate powder made in Glasgow has arrived. It’s made by a couple who import the cocoa beans and do it themselves. I like to give what we Scots call ‘mindings’ - only a little gift. Now I must face changing the bedding, probably my least favourite job! I hope that everyone has a good day. Hugs to all.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x I imagine it’s a lot of money but you cannot wait a year to be comfortable x
Lost my voice last night and very croaky this morning. DH and DS2 found that very amusing. We binged the Night Manager series in preparation for series 2. I paid in the fundraising cash yesterday and unfortunately there was a fake £20 amongst it which really upset me 😢
We are visiting nephews’ grave today then off to a Christmas food market, then to a GC to buy a tree and wreath. Will be trimming up later today.Hope the craft fayre goes well @AlwaysAllie x.Glad you’re feeling brighter @ScarletRibbons x.Hope you enjoyed last night @IzzyBee x.Have a good day all

Morning! I made a start on Christmas cleaning yesterday, you know, the one where you poke at any nook and cranny to clean it and scare the cobwebs. I fetched a lot fo cardboard yesterday, and my saw was ready for pick up [ very fast excellent service] but didn't do a lot else. Today I will attack the upstairs bedroom and get the Christmas decorations out. It'll be much like pearls on a swine but hey ho, maybe next year the house will look nice.Gers, yes, it does seem to lose it's strength, I love the nose burning effect of it, so I know when it's losing it's strength. Well, you can't take it with you so as long as you can still afford to live and eat, best to be healthier to be able to do that. camelot, that's nice of you to help out. Shout out to the mia, hope it's going so well you don't have time to visit
Take care all....

Morning all
Dry here for now but more rain due later, OH has just gone to get his dads shopping and a tree for us, I will then start to decorate for Christmas, dd is off and will help but she has a haircut booked for this afternoon.
The man came yesterday and removed the noisy machines 😃 the moisture levels are now back to normal, he did not put the loo back on though so OH will do that once he is back.we can also push the wm back into its place and we can at least get in the room without a squeeze, the rest can wait.
Steak and chips for dinner tonight with some stuffed mushrooms, I bought a herb cheese to stuff them with.Wm is on and I have a wool wash to put on after and then a raincoat which needs special waterproof stuff in the wash.
Coxy well done on the fundraising shame about the fake note xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, thanks Scarlet- glad you're feeling spry
- it's raining again so I've not been out with the dog yet. DGS football match was cancelled due to a muddy wet pitch and our town team are away so I'm not sure what we'll do today. DS1 is out with a group of friends from lunch time so I'll probably cook the 2 steaks that have been in the freezer for ages for tea.Gers, yes def go for it if it's something you can afford, at least you'll be out of pain.Coxy, what a shame about the fake £20
In the delivery this afternoon there is a pack of Trex and some mincemeat so I can make the mince pie recipe off here.Anyway hope you all have a good day!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Good morning form a very wet and blustery Mehefinland
Turned the guys out in light drizzle this morning, and then the heavens opened!! Poor Showman got himself in a tizz and his rug is half way up his back as the wind must have got under it - could I get anywhere near to sort it!! Not on your Nelly ( a curious expressions) so he will just have to put up with it for now.
Some kind soul decided it was a good idea to dump their polystyrene bits in the hedge opposite my field last night - you can imagine the mess today after a full blown gale.. I just spent a good half hour picking up what I could, but it is been mangled into lots of bits. Got a good 3/4 of a bin bag though. Just so bloody annoying that people have so little respect for where they, or others, live.
The volunteers party went ok, although there a lot fewer than anticipated (too many other things on ). It will be our 10th anniversary late next year so we need to start planning what we can do to commemorate it. I would like to revisit some of the authors we had at our official opening day ( one is a well known TV newsreader in Wales.
Anyway ,we will see in due course.
Ran out of Xmas cards EEK! Just the ones for the yokels locals so that is easily resolved.
Hugs and spoons as always
