Learner insurance surprise
My youngest daughter is learning to drive and I looked into learner insurance. Marmalade at around £80 per month were quite expensive but Veygo seemed more reasonable at around half that. I was planning to accept that, but I thought I would check the cost of adding her to the main policy on the car. It actually slightly reduced the premium, so I am adding her to the policy getting a small refund. I really did not expect that.

Just remember if she crashes while learning on your policy. It is a claim you have to declare. Using one of the learner polices. It is a claim on that policy & not yours...

That's a good point, but it's a risk I can live with.born_again said:Just remember if she crashes while learning on your policy. It is a claim you have to declare. Using one of the learner polices. It is a claim on that policy & not yours...

Learner drivers are fairly low risk, they must be accompanies by a responsible adult, in this scenario that most the time is a parent.mgfvvc said:My youngest daughter is learning to drive and I looked into learner insurance. Its when they pass their test the premiums go crazy as then they can be in their car at 2am showing off with 4 mates in the back that have all had drinks and are egging them on.0
