"I can find no other way of contacting anyone and as far as I know, because I used the parcel box instead of a post office, I have no claim as I have no proof of postage!!"
I believe you can get proof of postage through the royal mail app by scanning your label as you post each item;

Not sure I'd trust it to claim for 40 lost parcels though, looks a bit suspicious.1 -

If I were OP I wouldn't worry too much until Monday, strange things can happen this time of year.
Anything I post in the parcel box or locker never tracks at the local DO first track is always 50 miles away at regional office, apart from the locker scan.0 -

"To use the service customers simply need to open the Royal Mail app, select ‘proof of posting’ and the postbox they are at will appear. They then scan their barcoded label, select ‘post now’ and the customers will receive their proof of posting confirmation message.It is really important for customers to be able to prove when and where they posted their items, as well as having convenient drop off locations. This new service ticks both of these boxes.
We are seeing more and more customers using second hand marketplaces to sell clothing and these items are likely to fit in a postbox. With the convenience of a UK-wide network of 115,000 postboxes located within half a mile of 98 per cent of addresses, customers don’t need to go out of their way to drop off their parcel.

Wait and see if you do get buyers querying. It may be a glitch with Tracking updating and. who knows, the parcels may actually have been delivered. If you do get INR reports you've got another couple of days before you need to start thinking of refunding.0

Whilst my response has nothing helpful for the OP I would just point out that 'free postage' on ebay is absolutely no different than any other kind. When I list on my account I can choose whether I pay for the postage (seller pays) which shows as free postage to the buyer, or buyer pays , which shows a postage charge to the buyer. If I'm using simple delivery on my private account then either way I get an ebay label, there's no difference at all in that label regardless of who pad postage. If I'm using my business account or custom postage on ebay then again absolutely no difference. Regardless of who pays I print a label on ebay, pay for it and send item.dnpark38 said:I buy a lot on Ebay and I'm finding that nearly all items these days are posted and usually say posted on 48 service which I thought meant delivery 2 days after posting. Rarely do they arrive in 2 days on complaining I'm told this 48 service is a 5 to 7 day service. Actual delivery given at time of buying is getting to be never met. Usually I'm given a tracking number but no tracking data is given until delivered.
There is something very wrong with the delivery arrangements that Ebay have with Royal Mail for items offered with free delivery.
RM48 - which is the ebay standard RM postage, is deemed by ebay as being 2 working day delivery on average. However as you and I have both found to our cost the reality is usually far from 2 working days.
This is what RM actually claim for RM48Tracked 48
- 2-3 business days
- Compensation up to £75

I know tracking on standard mail can be hit and miss, but this many all sent on the same day suggests an issue somewhere, it's a heck of a co incidence otherwise.savergrant said:Wait and see if you do get buyers querying. A fault with the machine that sorts them? Possibly if they aren't tracked as received it can't update further tracking? Theft from the postbox is possible but if just one of the parcels had proof of posting through the app royal mail would be suspicious of the postie who emptied it. And there didn't appear to be signs of tampering when op used the same parcelbox the next day.soolin said:

My understanding is that whilst you can get proof of postage at a post box, it only becomes worth anything once it has had it’s first scan in a mail centre somewhere as before that, they have no way of knowing whether you’ve actually put it in the box. So that wouldn’t help the OP as they haven’t been scanned into the system yet.savergrant said:
