Morning all, thanks @Gers for today's start and thanks also @-taff for the carol - that may well end up as an 'ear-worm'.
Yesterday's rain hung about all day and, at one point, it was so dull outside I found myself wondering why I'd bothered to open the curtains at all! There was a light frost when I got up this morning (gone now) but it should be dry for most of the day and there's even some sun at the moment.
However, the wet stuff will be back again this evening.
I had a fairly productive day yesterday sorting out the freezer and was relieved to see there's enough space left for the couple of items I still need for Xmas. Laundry not done though as there wasn't as much in the basket as I'd thought to make up a full load. I did some more of my current cross stitch but I doubt it will be finished this side of Xmas.
Usual Friday admin today but first up, while it's dry out, I'll have a walk to the shop for a TV guide (they're confusing me with their revised Xmas publication dates) and to ask for a refund for an overcharge on an item I bought earlier in the week. Not quite sure how that slipped under the radar so it's fortunate I still have the receipt. Plans after that are fluid. Tea tonight is a battered fish with peas & sweetcorn.
@Ruby - Good to hear all went well yesterday and how kind of Matt's family to show they've appreciated all your help. Good decision to leave the renovations until next year.
@Gers - Yes, mustard does lose its strength once it's been opened for a while. It's always a taste shock starting a new jar!
@Izzy - Enjoy the winter light show tonight after your busy day.
@-taff - Instead of drilling into the wall, would a tension pole work for the curtains?
Have a good day whatever you might be doing, take care. Healing wishes for our poorly ones too. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hi everyone, thanks Gers & Taff. Its quite overcast, no frost here. We've just had an unexpected visit from my DB1 & SiL, bearing cards, and the DGC money cards. Nice to see them, had a good catch up as they've been really busy moving DN and boys as they had to leave their previous rented house, they seem to be sorted now.Nice of Robs family RR, I hope he settles in well and is happy.I had a good Christmas lunch meet up with my cousins yesterday, much chinwagging
, although our only male cousin is struggling with his health.I managed to get a free morries delivery for tomorrow afternoon, and hopefully some stamps will come with it then the rest of the cards can go. The fridge is bare!Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9
