Morning all, Morning GersOff out shopping later, will have to scrape the windscreen on the car first though!Just watching thr news and it says that Skipton is named the happiest place in Britain. @TravellingAbuela is this down to you?
Want to have a look for something silly and funny for DS's partner's teenage son, not going to be easy I bet.Apart from taking my anti-b's and doing my blood pressure check twice a day nothing else exciting is on the cards for the rest of the day.Have a good day all and hugs to all the poorlies xx13 -
Morning all
Very frosty here too this morning poor DD and OH had to scrape their cars off before leaving for work. Luckily I am under the car port so don’t generally get a frost on mine.
The chap is coming at 8 this morning to check the moisture level, I’m really hoping he says it’s ok and will take the machines away and re- install our downstairs loo, we have decided to leave the renovation till after Christmas, we are going to my sisters this year so no need to rush and we really only have next week to do anything before we go away, so we will live with the mess for a while longer.
Dinner tonight will be halloumi which we batter and the pan fry with some wedges and sweetcorn. I have a couple of washes to do once the man has gone and then I shall have a rest this afternoon.
It was really sad saying goodbye to Matt and his family yesterday, the bought me some lovely gifts including a £50 M&S voucher, they said I have become one of the family now which was so nice, Ive told them that if anything goes wrong the placement to let me know and I would come back, but I hope it doesn’t for all of them. His flat on the IOW is lovely so I hope he will be happy there.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
It's still dark outside and all seems calm so far. After yesterday's grey miserableness I'm hoping for some light.Yes @Chrisca and @TA - Skipton is happiest place to live.I did a few chores first thing, rubbish to dump, bag of stuff to CS and a quick chat with the pharmacy. Then I lapsed into semi-sloth mode. 😂 One kitchen cupboard got cleared out before I got bored. I've accumulated four bottles of red wine which I'll declutter at Christmas, my tastes have changed over the years. If I drink wine it'd be white so these can go with me to Alan's.Lunch was a chicken and ham pie from the freezer which I bought about a month ago. The wee deli gets some interesting items from local'ish suppliers so the pie looked tasty. The filling was but the pastry was too thick for my liking. Today it's some defrosted pork and caramelised onion sausages from Cranstons in the lakes. I'll have them with mash and baked beans, more comfort food.Does Coleman's English mustard lose flavour after a while? I have a jar in the fridge, for too long probably, which tastes much milder than I'd like. Perhaps I need to buy a fresh jar. This morning I need to do a little shopping so will go early before tacking another cupboard. Have a good day everyone, hugs to our poorlies.10

Thanks for starting Gers.
It looks wet and miserable this morning.
I feel a bit groggy after a bad night, but no doubt I'll pull round. I'll have to because there are 2 grandchildren and a dog staying tonight. Just one night, must admit I'm pleased it's only one, much as I love them. Well, the dog is staying the whole weekend, but he just sleeps a lot and requires stroking and a walk now and then. Their other grandparent is picking the children up tomorrow morning to take them to the Metro centre, I don't envy her. The way I feel at the moment I would be hard put to it to get out of the front door, but I'll be ok.
I had an early dental appt yesterday, just for a check up, everything is ok though. That's a relief. I wasn't expecting anything to be wrong but you never know.
Matt's family sound lovely Ruby, in one way it's a pity you're losing him, but hopefully future clients will be nice as well.
We once stayed at Skipton when we had the motor home and it is a nice place, we thought.
Sorry, I haven't read back, but hoping everyone is ok and has good days. Take care folks.

Good morning and thanks for the start @Gers x Those sausages sound lovely.I have never been to Skipton - what am I missing??!!
Went to the wreath making. Tiny church in the middle of nowhere surrounded by hop fields. They had lit the path through the graveyard but I couldn’t get in!! Seems the heavy oak door was locked/swollen and despite knocking and trying to shoulder barge the door, it wouldn’t open. No phone signal. I could hear the group inside but they couldn’t hear me, so I came away. Really disappointed and will now have to source one.Off to the town today to pay in fundraising proceeds - hoping they are okay with the 10+ bags of coins. All the correct denominations but wondering about the bulk deposit. I also need to get a single stem rose for my nephew’s grave plus pick up an order from Dune!m.Will check the kitchen walls once I’m back - can’t really tell if they look covered yet. Yes @camelot1001 I should invest in Du!ux 🤣
So kind of Matt’s family to gift you the voucher @RedRuby1231 let’s hope he settles well in his new accommodation 🤞🏻
Have a good day everyone.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. No frost for us this morning but it still feels cold nevertheless. Heavy rain is forecast for this afternoon.
CHRISCA I saw that bit about Skipton earlier. It's a pleasant enough little town but I think it's main attraction could be that it's classed as The Gateway to the Dales with it's gorgeous scenery.
Friday Tidy again today with a dust and vac up, down and all around as usual. Yesterday I didn't make the promised bus trip into town as I decided to clean out the fridge and address the dishwasher filter (I hate that job) whilst on with the kitchen, and then I cba making the effort to get ready.. And the appearance of heavy rain didn't help. So I ended up ordering some small gifts off the 'net instead. I'll get there eventually!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. I hope the convalescents are taking it easy. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -

Morning all! Not raiing yet, which is nice. I did drop offs yesterday, a cake to the heart nurse, my compound mitre saw to the tool shop for a service and some extra cat food to a local who rescues them, she's just had eight in so needs a bit extra and now the fox has gone, I don't have any other animal to give it to. The foxes still get the cats leavings in the night so at least it's not going in the bin. I complained to Purina about the quality of one of their products and they gave me five pounds towards another packet of food so happy with that. Then I went to Asda and got the cat food, and a pair of joggers for OH and a snuggly hoodie for me..I did fajita mix last night so I'll mmake them again tonight. Today, no idea, I want to make some curtains for the back door but I'm loathe to drill into the new wall for the rail but I expect I'll get over that...I found some very funky material when we were clearing my mothers cupboards so I'll give that a whirl. And I've signed myself up to watch a choir next week and the allotments quiz night too...Get me going out and about...Ruby, how lovely of them to give you gifts, fingers crossed Matt settles quickly and your house dries out quickly too! Izzy, sounds lovely, the lights and the food :pYou've just reminded me of my parents taking us shopping on the weekends when we were smaller...Coxy, oh no, what a shame! Apparently the easiest way to make them is to gather a small bunch of stuff and add one at a time all the way round until you finish, or at least that's how I was shown last year, worked well...I have never been to Skipton either...Have a good day all, don't rush about too much, enjoy something Christmassy today that's no pressure....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, enjoy those sausages!
Damp and chilly this morning again but no frost. Yesterday was very miserable, I had the lights on before 3pm. Wrapped a lot of Christmas presents yesterday and can now see what I still have to get, not much but a couple of tricky things to think of.
I went into school yesterday to see the HT and sort a couple of things out and decided I'm definitely missing it! I'll go in for a couple of days next week to help with the Christmas shows and then the same the last week for the Christmas parties. I volunteered to get the shopping for the parties as everyone else is busy and I have the time. The HT has another post to start after Christmas so it will be all change again. I'll miss him and his quirky ways!
What a shame about your wreath making Coxy.
Hope you feel better later on Scarlet.
Enjoy the light show Izzy.
The gifts from Matt's family show how much they value your friendship and support Ruby. Hope he enjoys his new place.
I have a 1st birthday present to drop off later and may have to go to DD's - her and the little one are really quite poorly with the flu that's going round.
Happy Friday, take care. XX11 -
RUBY is Matt's family going to keep you updated as to how he is going on. I hope it all works out well for him. And how nice of them to give you some parting gifts. They obviously think highly of you.
