Holiday Home in January 2026

Hello all

I may have missed anything relevant in the broad search criteria I used, so apologies in advance if this is the case.

I am ideally looking for a 2 week stay in January (approx starting 12 January to 26 January although dates might change slightly).

However, everywhere I have looked seems to be a fair few £'s, so wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to look at all?

I have looked at (in no particular order):

Booking.com
Hoseasons
Airbnb
Premier Inn
Parkdean

Am ideally looking to stay on South Coast (but that is subject to change depending on cost tbh)

Thanks in advance

Sometimes I wonder...
"why is that frisbee getting bigger?"
...and then it hits me

If you have a particular destination in mind, try looking on Facebook or similar for groups local to the town. I live in a popular holiday location (north so no good to you) and as soon as people post up requests such as yours on there they get loads of replies from locals who have holiday lets vying for their business.
  • Hi s_d,
Of the listings sites that you've mentioned, the first three at least are commission-based, and take quite a hefty slice of the holiday cost themselves, either as a charge to the booker, a charge to the owner (or both!).

There are still a few listings sites like Simply Owners which don't do this - instead owners pay a fixed fee to advertise.  It's worth looking at these to see if they have anything where you're planning to go as you may find the rates reflect the lack of a mark-up.

I know you're asking on the UK holiday site but you could potentially get a better deal going abroad on an all inclusive break at that time of the year . 🤔

What price are you hoping  to pay?

If you see somewhere on internet sitte look up the accommodation's own website. It is often cheaper booking direct.
