Comping from abroad

Hi
Can anyone tell me if it makes a difference to comp entries if I am abroad. Currently in Madeira on holiday and notice that some pages come up in Portuguese. So will they still accept my entry if it shows I am not in the UK? Am I wasting my time trying to keep up with advents?
Thank you in advance

I think it probably depends on the Ts & Cs of each competition.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. Can you use a VPNThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time1 -
I try and enter competitions when on holiday and sometimes a banner pops up saying it's not available in my jurisdiction. Other competitions I just enter especially if it's ones asking for uk address or postcode1

I've just got back from Lanzarote today and don't really comp when abroad but I do like to keep up to date with the MDs that I post and the win the draw comps I post and didn't have any problems entering and posting them. I did have problems with the money magpie daily ones though that I get email reminders for so skipped them as I can catch up now I am back home.
In the past I have sometimes had problems when logged into the hotels wifi but using my phone as a hotspot to connect to my laptop has worked. I have free data abroad so easy enough for me to use it. That may be an option to try if you can use your own data abroad.
I would suggest try using a VPN set to UK although that didn't work with the money magpie ones for me as I kept getting a too many entries error even though I hadn't entered them. Opera web browser has vpn built in but I don't know if it will work or not as I use nord vpn but it could be worth trying
If you do social media comps then they should be ok no matter where you are.
I personally prefer not to comp when on holiday except for posting the comps I post and last year and this year the advents are being pretty much skipped as it will take me quite a while to catch up on the main board comps. The past 2 or 3 years I haven't done well on them so I am putting the effort in with the others instead.2 -
I use a VPN and occasionally have issues with the rafflecopters etc as it says too many entries. But the usual ones are generally okay.1
