Morning allLate one this morning. BF rang and was telling me all her woes and we tried to put the world to rights so only just sat down after doing some housework and mopping the floors.Managed to get the Christmas cards written out yesterday so only need to put some stamps on today and DH will post them later when he's out for a walk. With the post as it is they should arrive before Christmas!NHS app wants me to do my BP for 4 days, mentioned it to the nurse yesterday when I went for my blood test and she said don't bother as they don't seem to be appearing on the system and she gave me a form to do it by hand and hand it in to surgery when done. Just received a message on the app reminding me to send my BP reading. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing!Hugs to all the poorlies and have a safe journey to IOW RubyHave a good day all x8

Morning all (just), thanks @Ruby for starting us off, I hope you have a calm sailing to the IoW today and that Matt will settle in his new home. It must be sad for his mum though. Thanks too @-taff for the carols, especially today's that's one of my favourites. I have a picture in my head of this being sung by Nat King Cole (showing my age there!)
Back to dull and damp again after a lovely day yesterday. I forgot to come back yesterday and didn't even remember until mid-evening by which time I was too tired. Lidl's car park was pretty full but the store not too crowded. I got most things on my list including one present (two more to go but I know what/where from, so not a problem) and a Xmas cacti that's sitting on my kitchen window sill. Not sure how it will fare as I'm not great with houseplants but we'll see. DS also bought a couple of things, not too much though, as he and his DP have been running down their fridge/freezer before they fly off to Brazil next week. I gave him one of my h/m quiches that will do for one meal for them.
Today's main tasks are portioning/freezing some of yesterday's purchases and some laundry, I think there's enough in the basket to make up a full load. The decorations box is still sitting untouched in the corner of the living room - I must make an effort! Tonight's tea is a thrown together concoction of diced corned beef, onions, leftover potatoes/veg with a cheese topping - tastes much better than it sounds but filling and economical.
@snoozer - That was a very scary thing to happen, it does sound like a scam. Sorry to hear the children aren't well, so many seasonal bugs going around but I hope they recover quickly.
Similar healing wishes @camelot for your DD and her little one; @AA for your lurgy; @Coxy and your cold (hope you get the daylight you need for painting) - and anyone else I might not have mentioned.
@TA - Glad to hear the alternative wine went down well but sorry you're starting to get stressed over the Xmas prep. Breathe - it will all turn out right!
@mehefin - Have a good time at the library volunteers party tonight.
@Gers - Shame about your Amazon parcel but what excellent service from the booking agent - an upgrade and cheaper too. The icing on the cake must have been the swift refund. I hope you have a wonderful trip.
@Izzy - Show homes might look good on paper but there's nothing wrong with mismatched (aka eclectic) and, most important of all, comfort.
Right, enough procrastinating, must get on. Enjoy your day, take care and stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Yorkslass - I've bought 3 of those Christmas cacti from Lidl so far...one for myself, one for little one and one to give to my friend for her birthday tomorrow - I only have cacti indoors, they're easier to keep alive! Mine has gorgeous pink flowers on it x7

@YorkLass - Nat King Cole was singing it in my head also!4
