Morning all and thanks for the start @RedRuby1231 I hope your trip goes well today x

I’m so full of cold. Think it started on Sunday and wasn’t helped by travelling on the underground on Monday ☹️ I had a good sleep though so not all gloom! DH stayed with friends from our old town last night and had a Chiro appointment this morning. I will resume the painting at some point (third coat in the kitchen) but need the daylight first!! Need it done so we can trim up the house.

Awful about the driving incident @snoozer. How frightening for you x

    Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks RUBY. Have a safe sailing to the IOW.  It's not raining here yet but it's on the forecast.

SNOOZER what a drama you had yesterday. It's lucky Laura had you with her for support. I've forgotten other news from yesterday so hope there have been no more dramas for anyone.

Yesterday's Skipton trip was enjoyed as always, with a nice lunch too. But oh dear our regular bottle of wine wasn't available so we had to settle on an alternative! Anyway no problem it went down nicely to accompany our chatting.
I managed to get a few more stocking fillers for the menfolk but still more to look for and it's starting to stress me. I don't like being behind myself and want to start wrapping/bagging everything. I prefer to do it all in one go once I have bought everything, not in fits and starts.

This morning I plan on doing a kitchen and bathroom clean and then maybe a trip down into town to see if I can spot any more stocking fillers in the dire selection of shops we have left here.

Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. And I hope the recovering are still recovering. Take care all, be safe xx

PS for TAFF.  My wreath is still hanging on a door in the hall. It's on one of those over door hanger things. But it wouldn't do for an outer door as it wouldn't allow it to close! If you come up with any idea let me know!

Morning all, thanks Ruby - I hope the IOW day goes well.
It's raining hard here too. I woke later than usual but unsurprising as I couldn't get to sleep last night!
I'm off to meet my cousins for our Xmas lunch later.Nothing else of note really, I'll catch up with the thread later, but hope all the poorlies start to feel better soon. No idea what is for tea, it'll be a freezer dig soon. The fridge is very bare but couldn't get an order until Sat.
    Take care all.

    Morning all from Mehefinland
It lashed down overnight - so hard it woke me up, and then of course, I couldn't get back off to sleep. Bit death warmed up this morning! Already shattered after 3 evenings on council stuff - interviews Mon/Tues and full council last night.. just been relentless it seems.
Library volunteers party this evening - the Trustees are treating them all as a thank you. Off to make some cheese straws in a tick, to add to the other piles of goodies. They are a great bunch and work hard to keep our little place running, although few in number and sadly depleted by bereavement and illness at the moment.
Had several invitations for Xmas day but really don't know whether I can be bothered - it's not my favourite time of year - too many memories I suspect.
DS and fiance +2 dogs coming up for the weekend prior to Xmas so I think that will be my celebration. Lots to do before then - hardly anything bought, no decs up or cards wrote - better get a move on!!
    Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all - it's so gloomy and dank here, only various shades of grey outside. Thanks for the start @Ruby, it's so good that your final day with Matt went so well.  I hope that the new clients work out as well. Thanks to @Taff for the Christmas song yesterday, it makes for a cheery day.
Yesterday I did a very quick (well, apart from the drive) shopping trip, mainly to return to items to Marks. The lovely new saucepan arrived with two dings in it so back it went.
An order from Amazon arrived with nothing in...it was a flattened cardboard envelope with a message from Royal Mail apologising for the damage or loss of content. That took a wee while with Amazon to sort out. They were really good, just needed photos of front and back, a bit of faffing around and then an immediate refund. I'll source the items from elsewhere.
Later on I phoned my hotel in Toronto to amend my booking. I realised that my flight home isn't until 10p.m. so requested an additional night so that I could spend time there rather than hanging around the airport. I also needed a room with a walk-in shower rather than an over-the-bath one.The agent was incredibly helpful. She suggested that I cancel my booking made via Booking.com whilst on the phone and then she re-booked me into upgraded accommodation (Tower Suite!) for one more night and a cheaper cost too. I was very impressed with the customer service, and it didn't sound forced either. Amazingly, the refund from Booking, com happened almost immediately too. Good day all round.
Today I'm going to clear out my kitchen cupboards, there's some stuff there that I won't use, is well out of day and just taking up space. There'll be a trip to the dump later.
Well done @Coxy for re-organising your work procedures, they'll be grateful. Hugs to @snoozer and DD for the scary stuff. It does sound like a scam so I hope that the insurance company sort it out properly.
My advent calendar chocolate is a wee Christmas tree - perfect for after lunch pudding. Take care all, hope that the day improves.
