Car Lease order (resubmission of credit check, due to time elapsed) Consumer rights
Hi all, quick question about a lease order.
I ordered a car through a broker a while ago and the finance was originally approved, but delivery hasn't occurred yet. The broker has now emailed saying the funder needs to extend the credit acceptance, and they want to re-submit my details for another credit check.
Here’s the wording they sent:
“Your funder has notified us that your credit acceptance needs to be extended… we will be reconfirming your details… please confirm none of your details have changed and you are happy for us to re-submit.”
I don’t want another credit check. I’m also considering a different vehicle from another broker.
If I refuse consent for the new credit check (or if the funder doesn’t re-approve), am I liable for any fees from the broker or finance company?
There’s a cancellation clause in their order form, but the finance agreement hasn’t started and no delivery has happened.
Just trying to confirm whether they can charge anything if finance can’t be re-approved.
Thanks!

What does the cancellation clause say?
That would seem to be the crux of the matter.1 -
There are no consumer rights. They are free to run another credit check, as your situation may have changed. (You have not given any timeframe)col1981 said:Hi all, quick question about a lease order.

You need to check any cancelation terms before you go elsewhere. As you are going via a broker, you will need to check theirs.
If you go elsewhere you will have another credit check anyway 🤷♀️Life in the slow lane0
