Sounds like a glorified advert and there's no obvious mention of it on the webpage. There's a section for, "partners" so perhaps this isn't unusual?

Just managed to get through the paper during lunch and noticed that they also have bought the ad on the back 2 pages and near half the puzzle page has an ad, so 4 & a half pages on the capital city paper, Amazon last week for the capitals Metro paper to the best of my recollection only had 4  pages for Black Friday advertisment!

Big bang advertising campaigns seems fashionable of late. I travel often to Bank station in London, and the whole length of the escalator to and from "the drain" has long had enormous ads for changing single companies, usually financial, on every surface along its entire length.  Often similar but smaller campaigns in carriages. Advertisers have learnt that lots of smaller ads do nothing if they're not noticed.

I work on the assumption that all newspapers have bias anyway.

Under Whimsical bantered thread, not sure what forum title this is posted under as it's not back threading - noticed in today's Metro that Sainsbury's has an extra thick cover of slightly plasticy paper bought up on the front page double spread which immediately was taken off and thrown in the  bin hopefully then noticed they had the next double sided of ordinary paper with a Sainsbury's ad also & again at the back so a total of 8 pages of Sainsbury's ad's and have yet to look through the paper; what a waste of trees to try to sell some wine and canapes although the milder weather suits
