An insightful article indeed.
These adverse implications for PRs in handling estates which include taxable DC pension pots has certainly put me off considering being a PR in those circumstances.
For my part, my own estate was already sufficiently complicated to warrant appointment of a professional executor, so a little reassuring that professional PRs have not been completely put off accepting PR appointments where sizeable DC pots are in point.
For many OPs the work involved in obtaining probate is already quite burdensome. With DC schemes eventually in the mix can imagine more executors needing to call on the services of professionals to help navigate the additional layer of complexity ( and risk).0
