Switching bank account problems

I used the MSE link in the June monthly email to switch a bank account to a new Santander Edge account.
In the switch eligibility conditions it stated that the switch was open to current Santander customers as long as they hadn't claimed the switch bonus previously. I have fulfilled all the eligibility conditions but not received the £200 switch fee or the Amazon token so I rang Santander yesterday. They said that they are not honouring the payment because if you now go onto their website it states that this offer is not open to anyone with an existing account open on the 1st Jan 2025. They say MSE has made a mistake in the initial eligibility conditions.

It's wise to always get the T&Cs directly from the bank in question rather than relying on MSE or another third party's interpretation. Thankfully, @Bridlington1 maintains an archive of T&Cs for past switching offers taken from the bank's own website in case you didn't keep your own record, which you can find here:

The terms of the offer available in June do clearly state that you are ineligible if you had either taken advantage of a previous switching incentive, or if you had an open Santander account on 01 Jan 2025.0
