aol disconecting when using phone

hiyas, weve just moved house and finally got aol braodband sorted.
our prob now is when we are online and someone either rings the home phone or uses it to make an outgoing call the internet disconnects. we havent got call waiting and i dont no what else it can be
any help please anyone????

Sorry to be a bit pessimistic, but AOL and its associated pile of software is renowned for causing problems all over the place.0

Is everything filtered including Sky, fax etc.
Like espresso mentioned, have you used a filter which is connected to main telephone line, though which you connect both telephone cable to the phone and the other cable to router.
You will have to use filter in all the phones in the house.££££££

I have been using AOL for close to 3 years now, and there has been no problem. Even the customer service has been very helpful.
Remove the optional software if you are not happy with it. or make them inactive.££££££

I would agree with everyone else - check the filters - they are known to cause problems.
Also agree with loksat - I've been with AOL for nearly 5 years now and I've used their software but don't any longer, but never had any problems and always get a good speed with no disconnections.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind.
