UW changing my contract

Took out a rolling 30 day contract mid September

Awoke this morning to an email at 5.03 am thanking me for changing my contract, 2GB less data and a whopping 160% price inclease. I did not change my contract, did not discuss any changes at any stage, I had a bargain, was happy with it.

CS agent clueless, just coming out with any carp making it up with waffle as they went along.
Gave up

Advice suggestions appreciated, EE has the better coverage for my area, hence the UW sim so looking for similar.

Questions -
Can they just impose an immediate increase, just by saying I changed my contact? When I did not

Do they have to give me notice?

How do I escape as quickly as possible
