Tesco Credit Card - clubcard number not recognised

I just received my new Tesco Credit card. I have tried to link this with my existing clubcard account. However, the clubcard number at the back of the credit card is not recognised. I have already asked for a replacement credit card, but they just sent a duplicate. i spoke to tesco customer service and clubcard CS but nobody can give an answer. Has anyone experienced this? I have been using the credit card already. Does that mean that i cannot earn points ? Thanks in advance.

Have you logged into your Tesco account to see if the credit card is listed there along with your existing Clubcard?
It should just be treated as another card (with enhanced point collecting powers).

When using the Clubcard number on my Tesco credit card I sometimes have to add two zeros at the start in order for it to be accepted.0

We are having the same problem with club card number on reverse of credit card Tesco have admitted that that number has never been issued. We have been over 2 weeks and still not sorted it is being blamed on an IT problem. Also received duplicate new credit card0

I had this too. In my case the issue was formatting rather than the number itself.Tesco lets you copy the Clubcard number with spaces, but the linking form expects it without spaces. When I removed all the spaces and entered the number manually, it linked correctly.Might be worth trying that before chasing replacements again — their systems don’t always explain various errors they have very well. Tesco's developers clearly don't do much user experience testing before releasing their systems into production.0

It doesn't help that they have both 16 and 18 digit clubcard numbers either.0

I had this issue previously - I rang customer services and they linked the 2 together
on the back of your credit card bottom left there should be a clubcard number - if you set that number up on the app then ask customer services to move across any points from the old clubcard0
