If I have contacted Debt Recovery Plus can i still ignore the letters?

I know I should have read this forum before contacting them but can I still ignore or dispute the appeal despite having talked to DRP. Like most people I see on this forum I didnt get any letters from smart parking and now I have DRP saying I have missed 2 of their letters too. I got this ticket from my friend not putting my car's information on the Ipad things cause we were in a rush so now 4 months later I have a 170 fine. I tried not to give them any information on the phone I mainly just asked why didn't I get any letters and who they were and why they were contacting me and not smart parking. Thanks for any advice.

yeah it's up to date one of the things they asked me on the phone was if my logbook address was the correct one and they said that it wasn't their fault I didnt get the letters and that I should contact royal mail.
