Morning allFine rain here but expected to clear up later for a while so the bedding is going upstairs on the airer just in caseWent to local shopping centre to get a few bits. Got some eye drops as the eye I had the cateract removed goes dry now and again. They're really expensive and once you've opened them you have to discard them after 6 months grrr. Popped into the freezer shop while out as I want something nice for dessert on Boxing Day as we're at DS for the Big Day. I had a list and completed it so happy with that! Thanks for the carol Taff xHave a good day all x8

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off and thanks also to @-taff for the Xmas carol. Well, here we are in December (already) and it looks like it's going to be a very dull and wet start to the new month. Whereas yesterday was dry, sunny and very cold, today is wet, grey and - dare I say it - milder, with daytime temperatures even reaching double figures. At least we're not under a weather warning like some parts of the country.
So much for my plan of what to do on what day! It's a good job I can be flexible as today's planned outing looks like it will be put back to tomorrow. I've brought down the decorations box but haven't put any up yet. I got distracted by going through a notebook that I use for grocery prices; some items that I no longer buy were removed and prices updated here, there and everywhere. Like everyone else, I'm shocked by how much things have gone up - even the basics are so much more expensive. In the spirit of MSE, tonight's tea is the last of the h/m soup, a corned beef sandwich with piccalilli and fruit for afters; I don't always fancy a full cooked dinner so that will do nicely.
@TA - Have a lovely wreath making session tonight - you never know, you might surprise yourself with something wonderful!
@WL - Gosh, that's an eye-watering price for the postage on the sweets.
Enjoy the Light Trail tonight.
@Gers - My spreadsheets used to be done twice a year - of late it seems to be a monthly job!
@Ruby - Sorry you didn't find any tiles in the loft. Maybe ask on Freecycle if anyone has some?
@dp1 - Gentle hugs for your DM - and you too for looking out for her. Sorry your Pip application didn't go well, not to mention a faulty laptop - I hope Amazon process your refund quickly.
Have a good day all, if you're in the poorly group make sure you exercise some TLC. Take care, stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Thanks for the start GERS pleased you are feeling a bit better and thanks for the carol TAFF how can it be December already . I feel as if I’ve done nothing but run around all morning the local freezer shop was advertising a turkey crown to feed 8 to 10 for 12 pounds today so I went as soon as it opened and got one that’s Xmas dinner sorted I called in the butchers were I save all year and put my order in to pick up on Thursday it just food for through the year chicken and mince and such which made that I had no choice after I met my friend for a coffee and a catch up but to come back and sort the freezers out properly my hands are dropping off . I rang my friend in hospital who was moved to respite yesterday and is going back for another operation in two weeks but she had had a more settled nights sleep she still has a long road ahead of her so I am going to sit down and have a cuppa before I take the dog for a little tootle around in between showers I don’t know when it’s ever going to get light today it’s miserable. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9
