Thanks for all the replies. The locks are changed, brother is an A-hole but knows there's nothing of value in there, he's just an opportunist grifter always has been. I recently moved all his crap out of the attic etc to his new flat and surprised at how much of the clutter was his, when it comes to clearing it I'll do it with my Hyundai i10 with roof bars as the recycling centre is a 2 minute drive away (it's weird- her house, the community hospital(where she currently is), the recycling centre and the preferred care home are all just several hundred metres from the house ). I've left the central heating on at 15c anyway. Just need to contact the insurers. get the community alarm removed. Any big items I can either stick on marketplace or maybe give to a "new start" charity. Then see what Fife council policy is on the council tax!!

The LPA has been registered and notified by me to her main current account bank August 2024. I need to go to the Nationwide building society that holds the ISA as it seems on her documentation the shares and bonds (Aviva) have this "Nationwide" on them, like they've been brokered through them if that's the right terminology. At this stage I think the shares and bonds should be added to her current account and the ISA left alone (i see from her book that withdrawals are possible and she's done that before to move money to the current account).... On sale of the house I'd then need to consider the creation of a new savings account rather than it sitting in a current account and maybe transfer what (if any!) of the ISA is left to that also....
