Jet2 Package holiday flight cancelled

First of all I know it's in the Ts&Cs that they can change a flight time but is it different if they cancel a flight?

In this case they have not changed the flight but cancelled it and put me on another flight 10 hours earlier from 5pm to 7am.

Even if I could go it would mean a night in an airport hotel and extra parking costs.

Jet2 have said that because it's a withdrawn flight not a cancellation I could change my holiday with no admin fee. So far so good.
The same holiday is on the website for the same price two days later. However they want £300 more than the web price. Obviously it would be cheaper to cancel and lose the deposit and re-book than to pay that.

My guess is they are pruning flights from East Midlands to put on Gatwick.

    Is there a question?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I suspect a 10 hour flight time alteration is within their Ts&Cs without being deemed a significant change for a package deal cancellation.
Best get a more knowlegeable insight of course.
  • Have you asked them if you can be moved to the flight 2 days later ? Did they say it’s an extra £300?
Or did you do a new search which is showing as 300 more expensive ?

I would speak to them see what they can offer before doing anything else.

Your flight change would NOT be considered a ‘significant change’ therefore no rights to cancel without penalties.
