Probate advice

Hi,

An elderly friend has recently died, he has no next of kin or relatives, he has a will which names my mum as executor & myself too if my mum was no longer living or unable to deal with his estate.

My mum is elderly & in ill health, so she has asked me to deal with the deceased affairs. I know I need my mum to complete the PA15 form, when I complete the application for probate do I just register this in my name or do I still enter her details too?

Thanks

As she is renouncing then no, you get probate in your name alone.

Has she formally renounced , or is this more informally asking the OP to support with the role with the majority of the legwork and the form filling?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

She doesn't want to be involved as she is very ill herself & possibly undergoing heart surgery & said it is too stressful for her to be involved with.
