On going FA charge (sorry)

    I can see the need for ongoing platform charges, but a sensible portfolio should not need the ongoing services of an FA. IMO it's a rip off at any price.
    Advisers are not investment managers.

    Yes, that dubious function is often farmed out to algorithm and data happy numerologists. So what is this FA doing other than being paid for some product long since sold. IFAs have some utility in helping people with specific financial scenarios like drawdown, but this FA seems to de doing sweet...wheel he's an FA.
    And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

    Do you know what a financial planner does? As it isn’t the same as years ago. This FA doesn’t sound good, but it doesn’t mean all are the same.

    That is not a small pot! I would not be paying those adviser fees personally, tell them you want to stop paying as you get no value from it. They won't like it, of course, but there we are.
