Morning everyone

I had a chat with one of my favourite online people a couple of weeks ago, told her I'd pop in here and say hello then didn't because I felt like I was jumping in on a private conversation or something. Also said I'm doing great but that happened to be a good day. I've got anxiety and am working really hard to sort it out.
I still have my chickens, I have eleven at the moment. The veg patch is doing well but is quite messy now, we'll be rearranging it next year and sorting some new raised beds to replace the rotting ones. Scampi Dog is still a menace, lol. When we realised he was never going to be confident on a lead, we just headed straight for fields and let him off to mingle with other dogs. He's great at making friends, just not when there's a lead involved – whether it's on him or another dog.
Just waiting for the house to be empty of humans so I can watch Stranger Things episode 4. I can watch it at any time, but I need silence with no chance of interruptions, a plateful of my favourite food and some chocolate

Good morning @Gers and thanks for starting us off on St Andrews Day xx
I’ve been AWOL - had two fundraisers yesterday so running around like a mad thing! Happy to report over £600 raised for our charities though. Final ever fundraiser next Sunday, then we will rest!!

Looking forward to that.I need to catch up on the thread so will bid you all a good day.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 25/25 Currently reading Guilty by Definition by Susie Dent13 -
After a very disturbed night on Friday I slept soundly last night. The problem on Friday was a very hot hotel room coupled with what I think was a microfibre duvet. And unopenable windows. I much prefer my cold room. 😀
The latest round of ABs have done the trick so 🤞🤞 that all remains infection free for the next three weeks. It's so lovely to not any pain. 😁 On the way home yesterday I dropped into an M&S food hall to scoop up a 'best ever' lasagna, the second best comfort food, and then didn't have any. I'll have a portion later piled with veg.Nothing much will be happening here apart from keeping warm. FAB to see you @Tru, and happy that you're pootling along. We miss you. Happy Sunday to all and get better soon to our poorlies12 -
Morning all from Mehefinland
Nice to 'see' you Tru
Think I have just about thawed out from last night's Xmas light switch on.. It was bloomin' freezing . The lights are not so good this year as a lot got damaged during a big storm last year, and also someone had kindly cut all the plugs off when we went to test them all. A string of twinkly ones which goes between the lampposts had disappeared too so it was a make do year. They are so expensive to purchase just for a few weeks use, and nobody wants to hire them out understandably. At least our little village is not as unfortunate as one of our local towns which had all its support wires taken down in the summer to accommodate an exceptional large load to go through. The wires were 'lost' and when new ones were purchased it was found that the fixings on the buildings were all corroded and unfit for use. It then transpired that quite of a few of the buildings were 'listed' and it took ages to get the relevant permissions. So today they have a reindeer parade with no lights, other than a few around the Town Hall. It is always a big event and the town is rammed with people so it won't be a disaster - just a slightly different day. They have substituted a laser light show to keep the festive spirit going apparently.
Clear up morning for me - so off litter picking after our little soiree -hopefully not too bad.
Amber warning for rain tomorrow so extra haylage brought in this morning - nothing worse than battling the wind and rain with armsful of stuff which only wants to escape lol.
Hugs and spoons as a ways. Have a good final day of November/Advent Sunday
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I am so pleased you are pain free and hope it lasts. I remember that horrendous pain as clearly as if it was yesterday. It's beautiful here for now with blue sky and sunshine but oh so cold!
TRU nice to see you and SCAMPI again. I've often wondered how he and the chickens are.
Last night's show went off without a hitch. It could almost have been a professional one. It was comprised of scenes and songs from a selection of musicals, old and new. There wasn't an empty seat and they said it had been like that for the previous two showings as well. I finally got home at 10.30 and, amazingly, I still felt wide awake so decided to watch Strictly, fast forwarding most of the waffle. I expect the late hour to my bed will catch up with me and I will be transported into the Land of Sloth after lunch and enjoy a nana nap!
It was the festive light switch on last night in the village at 6.00 prompt so we missed it as we were on the road by then. But I was amazed by the scene in the surgery carpark as we passed, I had no idea it was going to be so extravagant! Stalls, kiddies rides, etc and all festooned in 100s of lights. It was quite busy so obviously it was only us that didn't know about it. I thought the switch on just applied to the "illuminations" attached to the lamp posts! They were lit when we passed on the way back but the big display in the car park had gone. It almost made me feel quite festive!
Well veg to prep for my lunch to accompany the sliced up gammon I froze after last weekends joint. Have a lovely day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely - and those recuperating. Take care all, be safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Morning everyone
Nice to 'see' you Tru
Yesterday I went down to our nearest shops to get some 'bits' mainly sweets for stocking fillers and for dads' Christmas sweetie box, he needs nothing and wants nothing except for chocolate!
I had planned to go home and start wrapping but I was distracted by DD and little one asking if I wanted to go to the garden centre with them, so of course I did ...little one chose a tree decoration for her house and one for mine.
Then we went to Macdonalds for lunch....finally started my wrapping about 1.30...but I'd had a lovely morning.
It's a brighter morning today and the sun is meant to shine for most of the day, so I've got my bedding in washing and will get it outside before I go down to mam and dads. Yesterday was raining and grey all day.
I'll wrap mams presents this morning and help with her cards. I could write mine this afternoon, or I could have a lazy afternoon with my Sunday Times, either way I've got a few jobs to do first and shopping being delivered between 1 and 2pm.Pleased to see you got your new washing machine Redruby
Glad you're feeling better Gers - have you antibiotics to take until you go to hospital?
Well done with your fundraising Coxy
Right must get on, hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks for starting Gers and pleased you are feeling better. Lovely and bright at the moment, but cold.Well done on all your fundraising @Coxy11!Glad you enjoyed the show TA.How lovely to see you @tru. Sorry about your anxiety though. I hope your chickens and Scampi help with that.We have been putting some decs up, and we got the smaller tree up instead of the big one, looks fine despite DH misgivings. Some of our lights are ancient so we may pop up to the retail park to look for some more, and poss call in at MrT for some reduced joints to put in the freezer. Mehefin shame some of your lights are out of actionHope you all have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
