Best Offer Option query

My items are usually BIN but I do have some with the Best Offer option enabled.

Last night someone made an offer on one of my items which I was happy to accept. I did not bother with a counter offer as I was happy with the price offered.

Usually when I accept an offer payment is almost instant but not this time.

My notification shows the buyer as being 'the winner' and says 'Payment Processing' but the item also shows as still available for sale.  My 'Offers' notification shows that I have sent a counter offer which is valid for 3 more days. I am 100% certain I did make a counter offer, I only do that if the offer is very low.

I'm just confused as to why I'm getting these mixed messages. Anyone else had a similar issue?

I was a buyer recently in this sort of situation; I didn't realise there weren't enough funds in the account with the card I'd authorised them to use, so I had to manually complete checkout before it was mine - and it said it was still available for sale until I did.

[Not sure about the counter-offer bit though, all I saw was that my offer had been accepted.]

I posted about this over a year ago, like you I was thoroughly confused. I have had a couple more recently, and was even more surprised that one seemed to go from pending to not sold at all- nothing, no contact with buyer at all . It went from offer accepted and payment pending, but item still available for sale- to just item still for sale.
