Thanks. That is useful.
When do the proposed rates get confirmed?0 -
They are published after the budget announcement so become confirmed once the budget is passed.0

The carers allowance isn't correct, that's the 2025 figure. I think it's going up to £86.47 a week for 2026.
So I'd double check the others.0 -

So I'd double check the others. The list shows both the 25/26 and 26/27 rates. Most benefits are rounded to the nearest 5p. £83.30 + 3.8% is £86.465 so rounded down to £86.45.Last year it was £81.90 + 1.7% = £83.293 so rounded up to £83.30

where it says
Monthly equivalent (Rest of Great Britain)
Couples (with or without children) or single claimants with a child of qualifying age 1835.00
Single adult households without children 1229.42
Does that mean the maximum total amount of benefits a couple not living in London can get is £1,835 a month i.e. monthly benefit is "capped" at £1,835 or £1,229.42 if it was a single adult household?I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0 -

If someone is exempt from the benefit cap then the above rates do not apply. The exemptions can be found at https://www.gov.uk/benefit-cap/when-youre-not-affected

Thanks. I'm sure that 26/27 rate for carers wasn't shown before unless I'm going mad.molerat said:chrisw said:The carers allowance isn't correct, that's the 2025 figure. I think it's going up to £86.47 a week for 2026.

When do the proposed rates get confirmed? They are "Proposed" because although announced in the budget they must pass through a full legislative process before becoming law. They usually stay as "Proposed" until late January or February, depending on Parliamentary Business. It's unusual for them to change between proposal and becoming law, (except to correct errors and typo's), but it can happen.
