I have a Nationwide Bank account, which I am mostly happy with, however one small gripe is whenever I or someone transfers money to another Nationwide account it only shows the sort code and account number. I phoned them up to see if I was doing something wrong and they stated that I wasn't. So I guess I just have to put up with it.

Nationwide are very behind the times when it comes to banking systems and apps etc. You can either put up with it or switch to somewhere that does show you.

Nationwide are working on a new online system... I think it would be optimistic to expect any significant change to the old one now.

Some of the complaints about inflexibility and lack of facilities have been kicking around for years without any sign of action.

Well you don't 'have to put up with it'.

I have a Nationwide account but don't use it as my day to day account - just keep enough in there to satisfy the conditions for the annual payout, which hopefully continues

NW are merging with Virgin Money so I guess somewhere in the future the two systems will have a new one.

I've complained to Nationwide about this several times over the years, but they've shown no interest in changing it.
