Morning folks and thanks GERS. I hope you are feeling at least a bit better. It's fine here for now but heavy rain is forecast for late morning and sticking with us all day. Oh I do so hate miserable winter days.
I'm up and at 'em early (after yet another poor night's sleep) as DS picking me up for the SS early doors. But first stop is to be at his DP's shop to fix (hopefully) a tap. Might be a quick fix or might not be so I'll have a good browse of her lovely stock but try to avoid spending. She gets some lovely and unusual Christmas decorations, gifts etc in at this time so I might be sorely tempted!
Off back out again later for a show. Middle DGD is studying dance and musical theatre for her A levels and the show covers all they have done during their first term. It's in the school's auditorium with tiered seating so should be a lot more comfortable than the small plastic chairs we had to sit on for youngest one's gymnastic comp last week! I'll be recording Strictly to watch when I get back.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Not forgetting the poorly loved ones and getting better. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning, thanks Gers.
It's damp outside, rained yesterday.
Dgd and I didnt get out Christmas shopping yesterday, she'd had a bad night and still wasn't well. It's now been rearranged for Monday, they're still off. They were off on the same Monday and Friday last year, I remember we went shopping then.
I pottered round the house yesterday, made some scones, and a bag of rubbed in pastry for the freezer. It's handy. I also buy largish pieces of cheese, half them, and grate one half to put in sealed bags in the freezer, again it's handy. I use my food processor for these jobs, it's quick and easier on the hands. I was going to make a cake, but didn't in the end. I haven't made the Christmas cake yet, shock horror, it's usually made in November, sometimes October. I have all the ingredients, just not the will to make it.
Today, I don't know what's happening, it'll be a lovely surprise ( or not!)
Didn't realise you'd been off work so long Camelot, you'll have been quite the new starter when you returned.
Dp1, the Camel Dance made me laugh for some reason!
Ruby, I'm glad Matt was all right and had a good day. Belated birthday wishes to your dd.
Mehefin, I wonder what the horses will make of the alpacas.
Thinking of our poorlies today, hope your friend is a bit better Izzy.
Take care folks, hope everyone has a good day.

Yesterday my hospital appointment took all of ten minutes, I feel it could have been done on Zoom. However, now got a date for the operation, 23 December with one night stay. It was the first available date so am happy. Three weeks and a bit and then all should be well. Meanwhile it'll be more ABs and analgesics. So many roads in Glasgow have roadworks happening. I foolishly ventured into the west end, two arterial roads were jammed solid, including a lane onto the M8. Luckily I was able to do a u-turn and use the back roads to get to the Clyde Tunnel as an alternative so I wasn't late. The weather has been horrendous for two days and nights so I decided to stay overnight. Driving in pitch black, heavy rain and high winds would be mad. I'll leave for home soon. I haven't really kept up, sorry, so hope that all are well or getting better. Hugs all round.12

Good morning everyone, it’s absolutely dreadful outside, currently curled up on the sofa with my blanket over me, my first brew catching up on the soaps. I’ve been on “nanny duties” all week doing the school / nursery runs while DD1 is at work. Yesterday was lovely as the older 2 have Christmas arts and crafts at school and it reminded me of doing this with DD2 and DS2.
I was going to do the housework today but I’ve decided to not do it and actually have a day doing absolutely NOTHING because as I love my grandchildren and would do absolutely anything for them, all 3 have SEN needs at different levels so as you can imagine can be full on DGS is 10, 11 in a few weeks, DGD1 is 8 and DGD2 has just turned 3 throw in 2 dogs and we are having a party 😂 but I love it and wouldn’t change this precious time with them for the world.
Anyway I hope that you all have a wonderful day xTrying to change my life and will:money:11 -
Morning All
Dry and fairly bright this morning thank goodness, the last few days have been very wet and windy.
My bedding is in the WM, I'll hang that out in a bit, not sure it will dry very much but it'll smell nice when it comes in.
Helped out at the school fair yesterday afternoon and was totally exhausted when I got home! It was lovely to see everyone and got lots of hugs from staff and children, just hoping they haven't shared any germs! The little one was going to stay here tonight but DD has just messaged to say she's not feeling well so we'll see.
Glad you have your op booked Gers just a shame about the wait.
You've been busy Scarlet, I'm sure your cake will taste lovely whenever it's made.
Hope the drying out is going well Ruby and you have your new WM.
Enjoy the show TA.
Good to hear from you Mehefin.
I'm going up to Decathlon this morning to get some presents for DGS's Christmas presents, all to do with football! Must also do some housework.
Take care and have a good weekend. XX8 -
Morning everyone thanks for the start Gers hopefully the next few weeks will fly by for you or better still you might get a cancellation. My friend in hospital I have just rang has now had another scan and been given a sling it’s only taken 8 days she is having another operation in two weeks they have now decided she has torn her rotar cuff as well as everything else she has to have the pot on her leg taken off for the second time as her leg is swollen again in the mean time they have now found a spare pillow to raise her leg to see if that helps in the meantime it never ends . TA I’m with you on these dark days I hate winter. I’ve got a load of washing in it will have to hang on the airer I’m going to light the log burner the room gets nice and hot they won’t take long to dry . I’m just going to potter on I was going to bake or make something I don’t know what but I need to sort these freezers out to give me a gap before I do anything I can’t buy anything but fresh stuff for the next couple of weeks or there will be no room to put any Xmas stuff you would think I was feeding the street . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning all from dull and damp Mehefinland
we have a yellow warning on for heavy rain, but the BBC forecast says light rain showers!! I wonder sometimes if I might revert to the old seaweed method
. Mind you the saying in these parts if you can see the other side ( Bristol Channel - Minehead almost opposite) it's going to rain; if you can't see it ,it's raining!! I'm sure there will be similar throughout the country.
A lovely concert at the college last night - due to a lot of illness the original program was altered on the hoof so to speak and the staff stepped in to assist. They are a talented lot and we were treated to some marvellous bits of seasonal music, some which I had never heard before. The students stepped up to the mark too, with one or two interesting combinations - first time I had heard a cello and guitar duet!! A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon - and the mince pies were lush ( There's a bit of Gavin and Stacey for you innit!).
Xmas lights turn on later - just hope the weather holds. The two nearest towns are also turning on tonight - 1 has a reindeer parade - hate to think what that must cost! Laserlight shows seem to be a big thing this year too.
Best wishes to you all , especially the poodles
Hugs and spoons as always

Raining here and meant to be all day, OH can walk the dogs later as I’ve done it all week.
Excellent news - we have a WM 😃 the first load is in and I’m sure it will be on a few times today, the dehumidifier and hot air machine are running constantly we only turn them off at night, I spoke to the insurance company yesterday who are sending us the payment within the next week or so, it’s more than we thought which is a bonus, they will also pay us for the electricity we have used all week for the machines to run, I must say I am very impressed with the whole service from them.
Dinner tonight for OH and I will be cheeseburger wraps we have had them a few times and they are delicious, dd is working a late so will eat there.
Thank you for the Birthday wishes for dd she had a lovely day and loved her presents we also enjoyed our Chinese which was delicious.
Gers not too long to wait xx
Camelot take it easy today xx
Have good days all and take care xx
Im off to put another was on 😬

Morning all, morning Mehefin what's occurin'
Loved Gavin and StaceyGlad you've got a date for your op GersYour poor friend IzzyA wet day today although it's giving us a break at the momentRock cakes coolingWhen my DS was young we bought him a spirograph for Christmas one year and he couldn't say the word but said spidergrub instead. Just seen a 'retro edition' online so have bought it for him for this year's Christmas. Should be a giggle when he opens it!Have a good day all, keep safe and dry x9 -
Morning all
Very wet here this morning and it seems to be getting worse. It the annual Christmas Lights day so I feel really sorry for all the stallholders getting soaked in the High St, probably with very little custom. If it eases off we might pop up late morning.
I need to be off and out promptly after lunch as I'm dancing at the Tring Together Christmas Lights; always a good afternoon. Note I said dancing, as my arm hasn't recovered enough to play for Morris so I've had to relearn some old dancing skills! Hope I don't go wrong and mess things up for the others. After that we'll pick up a takeaway from our local Thai. We ate at a newish Southern India/Sri Lankan restaurant last night but it was a bit underwhelming and gave me a poor night's sleep so I won't be going there again.
Camelot; you seem to be doing well with your knee. A friend had hers replaced early October and isn't nearly as active.
Hope everyone else had a good weekend and best wishes to the poodles.9
