Morning again, it's a damp one here.
I'm supposed to be taking dgd Christmas shopping today. It was originally planned for last Friday when she thought they had a day off school, but she'd got it wrong, so we rearranged for today, the correct day. Dd msgd last night to say that dgd had a bug that was going the rounds at school and had been sent home. So I don't know what's happening yet. If she's not quite well I would rather she didn't go, to be honest. Anyway, we'll see.
Izzy, your friend sounds to be in a bad way, there's grounds for a complaint there I think.
TA, I hate cleaning windows, sometimes you can tell. Our window cleaner hasn't been round for ages, I think I'll have to find someone else.
Happy pie making, funny, my dh has been talking about minced beef pie, he loves a pie. Bacon and egg, and corned beef pies are also eagerly devoured.
YorksLass you're busy as usual, good idea to have two small trees.
Hope the poorlies are recovering, also thoughts to the sad and lonely.
Take care folks.

Morning! Missed yesterday, OH was down early which meant no computer in the morning, then I went out with a friend for a jaunt, went to a nearby ish town to look at their recycling place n case there was anything for the kitchen re storage...there wasn't, but there was a hand cranked tomato presser which was thirty pounds cheaper than it is online, I was looking at it in the summer but did't have enough tomatoes this year to justify it, so that's there for next year now [ ever hopeful...] I also got a top and a metal sign for OHs stepdad. Today no idea what I'm doing, depends on the weather, there's wood to saw up into lengths for kindling, or there's the step to start making, or there's the allotment, or there's taking apart the beds in the back garden. If it rains, well, i suppose there's always domestic nonsense to do...And I finally sorted the mortgage, thank god that's over with for a few years...Allie, I did have a laugh about the false teeth! that certainly beats my gran always leaving them down the side of the chair after sunday dinner..hope it's a quick lurgy for you, no fun doing stuff when your head feels like cotton wool. Ruby, hope Matt was ok yesterday, and yes, complain away...Gers, sleeping is good if you need it and you obviously did...Hope you're now onwards and upwards...Izzy, tell your friends daughte to contact the PALS in the hopsital. TA, ooo, mince beef pie...how was it? camelot, I see you're taking it easy still then [ not!] Rosy, condolences for you all....YorksLass, normal for this time of year I think, some days are just not worth getting going for either
Take care all!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope your DGD is feeling better today.
Very, very windy here and has been all night along with lots of rain, something woke me up about 2am banging about outside. Once it's light I'll go and investigate.
Hope the sore throat goes away Allie and good luck with the craft fair.
Did the folk turn up to start drying out the laundry Ruby? Fingers crossed you get your WM very soon.
You have a lot of options there taff - which will choose?!
How are you Mehefin, missing you along with Nanny.
Hope your appointment goes well Gers.
I went along to the M&S foodhall and got a couple of presents there, called into Asda for birthday cards and had a nosy about B&M but really don't like that shop. Once the dog had been walked I did some knitting and watched an early episode or two of Shetland - quite enjoying it.
Shopping to do this morning then it's the school fair this afternoon that I will go and help at, first time I will have been in school since the beginning of October.
Have a good day, take care. XX

Morning everyone after a mild day yesterday it’s back to been really cold I’m off out soon it my volunteering day today SO I’ve just had a thought is there a charity shop near you that you maybe fancy volunteering in I don’t know what they are all like but the one I work in is for the hospice I work a Friday afternoon but you can work what you like even a couple of hours if you want and it’s not all work you can do what you want tidying the rails serving customers pricing goods and putting them out I spend a lot of time stroking dogs trying stuff on having a cuppa and believe it or not talking we have two ladies who work there who are both widows and one of them always says this place saved my life her husband died suddenly and unfortunately she started to drink heavily after a nasty fall she started there she is very open about it and I think it has helped others . Scarlet hope you can get Xmas shopping AA i hope you feel better for your craft fair tomorrow GERS is it today you go to see the doctor fingers crossed you get sorted TAFF my hubby is a pie addict he would eat them every day given the chance we have butchers near us who do gorgeous pork pies lovely when hot and juicy but I can get heartburn just thinking about them . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I hope you manage the shopping trip with DGD this time. It's currently blue sky and sunshine here despite the forecast saying we should be getting showers. So I suppose they will appear eventually.
My pies lived up to promise, despite a setback! I got my stash of foil pie dishes etc out, only to find no individual pie dishes! So I made foil plate pies instead and froze in portions. In the end probably a good thing as they took up less freezer space than a load of individual ones and tasted just as nice with some mushy peas and onion gravy.
Today it's the same old, same old - Friday Tidy yet again! And one window left to clean! My bedroom window as I need to drag out a couple of sets of drawers to get at them. Doing acrobatics on drawers to clean them is not an option these days! I've all on keeping on my feet on the floor. SCARLET I'm cross with my window cleaner for a different reason. He comes TOO often and at £9 a time every 3 weeks is too much. He swears it's monthly so I started keeping a check on my calendar and he's wrong and I'm right so, his loss, I'm going to tell him I'll just have them cleaned alternate times. My friend on the top road has started doing that and a few have cancelled him altogether.
Window cleaner rant over now! Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. RUBY I hope the wm finally arrives today and the drying out starts, Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. Hope DGD gets better soon x
I too missed yesterday as paint coat #3 was needed and we had to go out for more supplies. Ended up following a funeral cortege of horse-drawn carriage carrying a tiny blue coffin. Certainly puts a lot into perspective 😢
Good idea re: CS volunteering @IzzyBee and something I’ve considered. Good shout of @-taff’s for your friend to contact PALS re: her shoddy care.Hope the WM turns up and definitely lodge a complaint @RedRuby1231.Mussels and fries for tea tonight. I have a busy day tomorrow with an indoor boot fair followed by running a quiz night - both final fundraisers for our charities. We’ve decided to wrap things up now our JoGLE is done - it’s now 9 years since we lost DNephew.Have a good day all.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 25/25 Currently reading Guilty by Definition by Susie Dent12 -
Morning all
Cold here but not raining at present. I was woken up this morning by someone knocking on the door just after 8, it was the man to start the drying process, they told me they would be here at 1 so I wasn’t expecting him and was still in my pyjamas 😂 it’s good though he will hopefully be finished and out before the new wm is delivered, he has taken up some floor tiles already and the smell of damp coming up is awful, but at least the work has been started. We will also be without a downstairs toilet for the duration.
Today is my darling DD’s Birthday she is 31 today I can’t believe where the years have gone, she was 8lb 8oz when she was born and the whole birth took 1 hour 15 mins, she has always been very efficient 😂
Dinner tonight will be a Chinese takeaway, DD’s choice and we will do presents later once OH comes home.
Matt was so good yesterday we came back here for a cup of tea and ended up having lunch here, it gave his mum a really good break from him which she was so thankful for, when I took him home he was very tired and was obviously processing everything, so I left him on the sofa with a blanket over him and I lit their log burner so he was all cosy and warm he was practically asleep when I left bless him.
I hope the poorly ones feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning all from Mehefinland
Not had much to post recently so have kept schtum . Quick precis - horses, mud, rain, lol
Have been approached by a lady who wants to use Showman as a model!! She makes containers, bags etc to put hay in and has a new idea which she wants to try out. It's a heavyweight vynil sp? container with suitable holes so that they can access the feed inside but slowly - a sort of stable toy - I've seen similar for dogs. So we filled it up and put it outside in the field to see the reaction, and predictably the so and so's wouldn't come anywhere near it!! Will persevere over the next few days - it is always the same with something 'new'. Speaking of which next door seems to have acquired some alpacas. Don't think the guys have spotted them yet as they are tucked up behind the barn and not in clear view. That could prove 'interesting' in due course.
Made my Baileys coffee fruit cake yesterday so the house smells lovely - can't see it lasting to Xmas though
Got a man coming to give a guestimate for a new back door today - I want to replace the existing wooden one with a upvc jobbie - but it is currently a stable door type and I would really like similar, so no doubt it will cost more if I decide to go ahead.
Off to Atlantic College for the final cafe concert of the year this afternoon - its a seasonal celebration - I suppose as it is a multicultural international school they can't really call it a Christmas one. It should be a nice occasion.
Xmas lights switch on in my village tomorrow so its bound to rain! Will be a long day, that is a certain.
Hugs and spoons as always and hurry up and get better you poodles.

Morning everyone
Very windy here this morning and supposed to be all day, at least it's not raining.
Little one came home with me after school yesterday, I can report her mummys Christmas presents are now made, she decided she would really like some fluffy socks as well so I can get them at Primark when I go next week.
I did start my wrapping yesterday morning so plan to continue with that tomorrow.
She sang lots of songs from the school play and showed me her 'camel dance!'
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning for a cuppa and to do his banking.
My laptop died yesterday, it just won't switch on. The charge hasn't been lasting properly the last couple of weeks...any ideas before I get in touch with Amazon? It's still under guarantee. Luckily I still have my old very slow one.
I too have a missing window cleaner...he hasn't been for ages
Right must get a move on, I hope everyone has a good day x11
