Revolut card question

Hi, I lost my Revolut card today.  I've re-ordered another one which won't arrive until around 10th December.  I am going on a trip on Tuesday to Germany.  The card had £14 on it.  I've put a virtual card in my google wallet - will I be able to use the virtual card before I get the physical card?  I don't want to top up my revolut account if I can't use the virtual card in google wallet.  Also, if I can't use it what are my best options before Tuesday?  Sorry, I'm not great with this kind of thing.

    Revolut credit card?
  • If the lost physical card is showing in the app with status of "cancelled" or somesuch, test out using the virtual card in Google Wallet before you travel.

What's the source of your funds? Where are you holding the money you were going to load to Revolut?

Don't think there's time to get another Revolut-like account + physical card set up before Tuesday, you might be able to set up something like Monzo, Kroo or Chase if you were happy to have virtual card only.

If you want physical plastic then maybe a Post Office Travel Money Card?

https://www.postoffice.co.uk/travel-money/card? but again how will you pay for this?

Note for future/others - this is why you have more than one account good to go.

The money transfers from my bank account to the revolut account.  I just tap the physical card.

You preload money onto the card.  If there's no money there, you can't spend it.  Useful for going on trips or holidays.

Do you have a card with your other bank account? Or is it that this card charges fees for overseas spend and ATM use?

Yes, I have a card for my main bank account.  Revolut doesn't charge fees for currency.  You can just tap to pay or use it to withdraw currency in another country.

I'm aware of how Revolut works - I have an account.

Just trying to determine what your actual requirements might be during your trip, if anything can be obtained before your trip in 4 days and why you don't want to use your existing debit card.

It's why I made the point to test it once the physical card has been reported as lost (and presumably cancelled by Revolut).

May be you could explain where I went wrong?
I downloaded the app, got verified, it gave me a virtual card, I put £10 in the account, put the card in my apple wallet, went to the shop to make a purchase (required for £20 bribe) and the payment was rejected.  I created another card and will try to use it tomorrow, but have a feeling that it will fail again...
