Hi all, just want to check something as I believe I understand the process etc.
Received a letter from DCBL on behalf of smart parking for an unpaid PCN over a year ago. I never received the original PCN as I forgot to update my address when I moved house. I did some research and found out where the incident occured- a car park next to my works head office, I was sure I'd paid and as I had the record on my bank statement I sent it off to smart parking challenging the fine, I had no specific details as usual from DCBL so just assumed it was an error and easily resolved.
Turns out I'd over stayed by 18 minutes, I have a copy of the original PCN now. Have I messed up by trying to show I'd paid-albeit not for the correct amount of time and has this harmed my chances of dealing with the PCN? It's currently at the 170 quid stage and I'm absolutely not engaging with DCBL.
Thanks
