Close Brothers 12 month bond coming to maturity

Anyone had a 12 month bond with Close Brother before?

I have one that is maturing on 4 December this year, that is in 12 days' time but I haven't heard from them to notify me that the bond is maturing and giving me options on what to do with the proceeds.

Should I have heard something by now?

    Maturity

We'll contact you about 14 days before your Fixed Rate Bond ends to explain your options. If we don't hear from you, your balance will go into an Easy Access Maturity Account

Worth checking your contact email is up to date and their emails haven't been going to the spam folder.

thanks.  not received any communication from them.  i think i will contact them.
  • If they notify you by post, the letter is sent 14 days before maturity but post will often take a few days.
  • if you have online access with them you can input maturity instructions online if it matures in 12 days anyway.
I had a maturing bond last month and they were very fast at repaying, on the morning of the maturity date.

If you don't give any maturity instructions, they put the money into their matured cash ISA account, does anyone know what the rate is for this account?

Close Brothers - matured cash ISA rate is a derisory 1% from memory. They change the account number, however I transferred my maturing 1 year fix cash ISA to Freetrade S&S ISA (to benefit from their 1% cashback offer on new accounts) using the original account number filling in Freetrade transfer form the night before maturity having set up a new Freetrade account a few days before (in case of ID verification problems). Pleased to say the transfer was completed in 2 days so cash was not long earning just 1%.
