first direct Classic Card statements disappear from the App

First Direct moved me from a Classic Card to a Credit Card on 5 November. They emailed to say "the only things that will change are physical card, card number and payment details". What they didn't say is all my statements have gone from the App. Six years of my spending history is now ... history! Has this happened to anyone else?

Is the data visible via browser instead perhaps?

I haven’t got my new card at all yet! I use a PC to physically log into my account and although I haven’t yet had a new card I did notice that about 2 weeks ago my credit card history vanished entirely from view, I didn’t have a chance to phone them but it was a bit disconcerting to see no record at all of my current or previous spends, I wouldn’t even have been able to pay my bill as I had no way of checking what was due. Luckily   it all came back 2 days later, so perhaps they are tinkering with the system? I was tempted to temporarily revert to paper statements in case this happened again.

I wasn't in quite the same situation as you but the results were similar. Somebody attempted to scam me by pretending to be from FD. I didn't fall for it. However when I reported the attempt to FD, they cancelled the card and sent out a new one. The consequence was that the statements for the old card disappeared from the app.
The scams were attempted twice and each time with the new card, the statements for the previous card disappeared from the app and I think the web.
However for an unrelated issue, I did manage to get copies of previous paper statements for a current account sent out to me. I don't know if it is important but these statements were from before I was using the app.

Call them and they can send you paper copies for what you need .
my credit card was scammed recently and the same thing happened in that all statements had disappeared as soon as they had issued a new one.
seems to be a standard thing but it would be nice to have been told that beforehand

That is the norm with Visa/Mastercard systems & always has been.

  • The same thing has happened to me. No new card but all transactions before 22nd November have disappeared. All statements have disappeared. I can’t even see how much to pay in December or by what date. Can’t check transactions are correct. It’s not good.

A few things made the situation a bit easier.
My card bill is paid in full by direct debit. But after the first time it happened, I phoned FD to find out how much would be taken.
I now download statements to my computer soon after they are generated.
I also use personal money management software which I update almost daily in terms of which transactions have  cleared. So even though when I got the new card, the transactions against the previous card disappeared, i knew which had cleared. Also the uncleared transactions (at the time of the card closure), appeared against my new card. So I continued to keep track of them.
