Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Decided not to go on the walk and talk this morning.
It's a bit warmer so might do a few minutes in the garden.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.10 -
Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd pop in to report that I'm doing something properly OS today, making a Christmas cake for Steve's sister's present. I'll also make a batch of no sugar granola for L and B, it's much nicer than shop bought and sweetened with dates.
The family are home again tomorrow because L and B are having a Christmas thing with friends. We've promised the children we'll go to pick out a tree.
Hugs to all the poodles. Have a good day.11 -
Afternoon all, thanks for starting us off @Scarlet, sorry you lost your post. Much milder here today - dull and breezy but looking rather damp out. We could get up to 14 deg today.
Yesterday I road tested my new boots and, as Pop Larkin would say, Perfick.
My old ones that still have some life in them have gone into the SA clothing bank in the Co-op car park and I nipped into the store for the forgotten milk, a TV guide and a tin of mackerel that I had a 50p MOC for. Last of the big spenders! I was also tempted by a YS box of baklava, a little treat to go with afternoon coffee. When I got home I had a bowl of the lacklustre celery & bacon soup that's been perked up by the addition of a little curry paste (much better) and listened to the Budget. Very little in there for me personally, apart from knowing I'll be paying more tax on my final salary pension.
I'm definitely avoiding the news today.
Despite having had a good night's sleep, I seem to be taking some getting going today - nothing wrong, just feeling lethargic. I blame the weather! I've postponed what I'd planned to do today, no point in doing a half-hearted job.
@Ruby - Have a good day with Matt and an advance Happy birthday for your DD tomorrow.
@Gers - Sleep is a good healer so sleep away if that's what your body needs; I hope today's hair cut and colour will help you feel a little more human.
@Chrisca - I decluttered my big Xmas tree last year and now have two small ones, one each side of the hearth, so no pondering as to where they go.
@Izzy - For heavens sake, your poor friend is in a worse state now than when she went into hospital. It's no wonder so many older people are reluctant to be admitted. I really hope you get better news today.
@TA - I haven't made minced beef pies for ages either, you've inspired me to make some - not today though!
@camelot - Another one with WM woes! Fingers crossed your DD doesn't have the same experience as @Ruby.
Best wishes to all for a good day, take care and help yourself to a virtual hug if you need one. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
