HM Land Registry says "NOTE: No copy of the Lease is held by HM Land Registry"

Hi all,
I am looking to buy an auction property, the one issue is no one (including my solicitor, seller and the landlord) can locate the original lease.
I need to extend the lease (have 60 years left), however I can't do this if no one can locate the lease.
Has anyone come across this before? What's my strategy here please.
Thanks,
Sran

How do you know it has 60 years left?0

It's in the document "Official Copy (Register) - (leasehold).pdf"
It tells me when the lease has started, it then says "NOTE: No copy of the Lease is held by HM Land Registry"

Are there any other occupiers of long standing who might have a copy ( I am assuming it is a block of flats)? I am surprised the landlord hasn't had this question before. Is there a managing agent? If not I would personally leave it. That's probably why its gone to auction.0

The best bet might be to see if the freeholder has a copy of the Lease - but I suspect you may struggle to do that in the timeframe.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
