There is no phone line between telegraph pole and my house - can I get Fibre broadband?

For 10 years I have had Virgin Fibre Broadband which uses a dedicated cable running at ground level from pavement into my house. I want to change to another Fibre provider but I need to know how it is possible. There is no phone cable connecting to my house from any telegraph pole (I have never had a landline at this property). Does FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) come through a phone line or would an engineer from my new supplier lay a new cable from pavement to my house? Any advice welcome. Thanks.

If full fibre is available in your street it will come via a dedicated line either underground or from a pole.
A new installation will be required and you need to use an online checker to see a list of providers.
In some locations VM may be the only provider if the street has not been cabled by another company.
It does not come via the old copper phone line.

You may not have a wire but is there a pole near enough to provide a wire , (so an uninterrupted path to the pole top and not exceeding 60m ? If that’s the case a new wire will be provided if you order service ….you say can you get fibre broadband, is that FTTC or FTTP , although it doesn’t change the installation method , but if it’s FTTP that’s available, even if you did have a redundant copper wire from pole to house it’s not used anyway as a fibre cable will be provided.

Put your address in here , if FTTP is available it will show the installation method
post the results if you want an the return interpreted.
This only refers to Openreach based providers , if you have City Fibre or any other Alt Net available you’d have to check with them0 -
Has your street been cabled for FTTP?
Regardless of how the new fibre cable travels to your home (overhead via pole or through a duct at ground level) you'll need a new connection to get anything other than Virgin. It's not a "phone line", it's a Full Fibre Optical link.
Stick your address into the OFCOM broadband checker to see what's available.

then click on the infrastructure supplier(s) (will probably say Virgin & one other) to see the broadband suppliers.0 -
Yes, according to the online checker FTTP is available for my house. Thanks for the replies. Useful.
