EDF Smart Meter & NSH Issues

I’m having a problem with my mum’s new smart meter. EDF have replaced her old RTS complex meter with a SMETS2 smart meter, but are taking their time configuring it properly.
It’s showing 2 readings, which I assume are peak and off-peak, but her NSH is coming on at odd times and looks like most of the usage is registering as peak usage.
She is supposed to be being moved to an Economy 7 tariff, but her online account is still showing the old tariff.
Is it likely that the meter is configured to E7 hours, but the heater is still being controlled by the tariff? Or another schedule?

The times the NSH comes on appear to be 9-11pm, 12-2 am, 7-10am, 4-5pm according to the graphs online. These are not the previous timings, nor E7 timings. It’s hard for me to check accurately as I don’t live there and she is too frail to check it herself.
I have queried it with EDF but they don’t seem to be rushing to sort it out. I’m concerned mum is going to get hit by a big bill if it’s not set up correctly.
Any advice please?

EDF aren't renown for outstanding customer service, but try downloading their app to your phone and it may make it clearer what's happening.
- Are the NSHs the old Box of Bricks ones (no screen, two knobs) or modern High Heat Retention ones with a screen and a fan such as Dimplex Quantum?
- If modern HHR, does each NSH have one supply cable or two? If only one that's often problematic because you have to mimic the switching times precisely; you can't rely on the published times, it's critical that you program the HHR to the times used by the meter on the wall otherwise you can often end up charging at peak rate, especially on a 'split shift' e.g. 2230-0030 and 0230-0730 GMT. Check again after the clocks change.

I see you managed to start a new thread, so well done! However, the situation you describe is almost identical to the one afflicting pattymac33 in the thread you posted in first. The slight difference is timings is probably because your mother and Pattymac are in different parts of the country, and timings are area-specific (she's in Devon) If you can't make sense of what she had to go through to get EDF to spark, say so and someone here will try and explain what needs to be done.CrazyMaisy55 said:

It would be helpful to know (a) where Mum lives (the first part of the postcode is usually enough), and (b) precisely what sort of meter she now has. Pattymac's is an Aclara SGM 1416-B (just like mine!), and it may well be that Mum's is the same. We can hope that some of EDF's techs have worked out by now how to configure them when replacing RTS systems, but it might not be easy to track a knowledgeable one down. I assume that you're named on her account so you can talk to EDF on her behalf - if not, it might be an idea to arrange that if she's struggling with the technical stuff.I'm not being lazy ...

It seems EDF dont really have a standard meter option for replacing RTS - which might depend on how the old rts meters worked. As you mention 1416, Rosie1001 iirc got a EDMI ES12b installed by them in Mar iirc - and PZ19 had the Aclara 1422 twin element - and been having issues stretching over months. The 1422 model is capable of mimicking some more complex tariffs / metering arrangements - but not all (like my old Heatwise twin meter setup) - ones where the metering offered the option of different rates for different circuits at the same time of day. SP appear to be using that for Whitemeter Comfort tariff on smart after upgrades according to one thread@Ildhund - dont know if in your areas of knowledge but a perhaps Silly question - off topic here a bit- but wouldn't the DCC messaging and so the supplier side of things be the same to set the tariffs and alcs calander data be the same i.e. independent of at least smets2 meter brand - at least for any ALCS meterBut I guess that leaves the problem of them being able to differentiate between non ALCS E7 (four port) and ALCS E7 meters - the tariff common - the ALCS not.
