Noticed the above on MSE Newsletter.
1% cashback on ALL spending (incl overseas) for a year.
Applied for and approved last night. Saves me messing around buying certain things with Chase and others with Nationwide, and their respective cash back limits.
Also keeps what I usually spend with those earning interest until due date.

    Fee free spending abroad too.

Nice to have alongside the Amex cashback card, though it won't get much use after the first 12 months for me.....unless they extend the cashback beyond 12 months.

The cashback is permanent, it just reduces to 0.25% after 12 months.

Yes, but not enough to keep me or many others on board. Extending the 1% would tho and I think that's what Paul 01 meant.

    Correct!

At .25%, it's not worth keeping. Amex give me 1.25% once the minimum spend has been hit.

Lloyds can't give you (much) more than 0.25% sustainably. They make 0.3% in interchange revenue. AmEx gets more because of quirks of the EU regulations on that.

They have more margin to play with largely due to being the card issuer and transaction processor, unlike Lloyds (and other banks).
