Outfox Energy switching gotcha!

Just thought I'd post this in case it was useful to someone else...
Before taking out my latest fixed price contract with Outfox Energy this year, I asked them "If I start a new 2 year contract and then in 1 months time I see you have a better 1 year contract, can I switch contract with no charges?". The reply I got was "You can switch within Outfox from one fixed tariff to another fixed tariff (irrespective of the term time for either tariff) without incurring any exit fees". Excellent...accept it wasn't. Turns out that was lie. If you switch contracts before a 50% time period has passed, then I have to pay all the exit fees!

They changed their practice of waiving exit fees a few months ago (August/September time?), so I'd go back to them and raise a complaint if you took out a contract before then and were told that you could switch out of it.
