Hi,

I bought a fridge freezer in May 2023 for my kitchen from Currys PC World.
It is an expensive model - I paid around £800 and it was reduced from £1000 at the time.

I have noticed that the seals on the freezer part have split. This is 6 months after the standard warranty has ran out.

I feel that this isn't satisfactory and I plan to contact the retailer on this as I understand that the contract is with them.

What is the best way to go about this. Call/email Currys PC World and explain first?

Thanks in advance
MP

Door seals are subject to wear and tear and are easy to remove and replace.

Is the split actually causing a functional issue or just an aesthetic one?

As the item is over 6 months old it's up to you to evidence that the seals have failed prematurely and not due to any of your actions.

The door seal for our fridge was £33 and simple to fit; it may be simpler to simply replace it than to pay for an engineers report which may or may not support your case
