Morning Scarlett and all to follow,
Sharp frost here this morning but dry which is nice. I’m off to see Matt today his mum might have some news about his move as she had a meeting on Monday, he is supposed to be moving on the 8th so I hope the powers that be stick to that for her sake.
We had quite a good day yesterday, we took the dogs out for a long walk and then came back and had lunch and watched a film. I am still thinking about what to do, I am already completely self employed so no change there, the work I do on Tuesday is under a scheme for the local council but I still work for myself, so I already do my own tax return and my own invoices. No rush to make a decision though.
Dinner tonight is chicken casserole, I have it all ready to pop into the oven when I get home, I also have the shopping being delivered tonight.
I phoned the wm company yesterday as I had heard nothing, they promised a call by yesterday, I’m so glad I did as the woman who said she had arranged everything had done nothing 😡 and it was still on the system as open, I got very firm with the man on the phone and told him it’s now been a month without a machine, he quickly arranged a delivery and pick up on Friday, thank goodness, it’s going to be a bit hectic as the other men will be here starting the work but we will manage somehow.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning Scarlet and all to follow. Brr another cold one. Minus 3 at 6 this morning with a thick frost. And they keep saying it's to get milder. WHEN?!
Going nowhere today thank goodness. I think I might make a start on cleaning the windows indoors. It's a marathon job so it will involve much stopping and starting. Yesterday the freezers got yet another sort out and moved stuff back where it belongs. I have quite a few Christmas meats and goodies stored in the smaller overflow freezer so did a gloat over that! I won't be hosting any parties so no need to go mad spending on extra food for the supply.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad , lonely or getting better. Take care all, keep warm and be safe xx

Morning everyone
Cold and frosty here too. Yesterday we had spells of sunshine and torrential rain and hailstones.
DD took me up to the vets with oldest cat for her booster after work/school...so that's her sorted for another year. Little one had been on her feed at school ...which didn't seem to have bothered her so that was good. She was full of chat as usual.
This morning I'm stewarding at our local cinema for Wicked, which I'm looking forward to, eldest DD saw it last week and really enjoyed it.
After it I'll pop for a little bit of shopping then go over to my friends for a cuppa later this afternoon.
Tomorrow morning I really need to get on with some wrapping, every year I say I'm going to wrap as I buy but it never happens!
Hope everyone has a good day today x11 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Very cold but dry and sunny. I've still got quite a few pots to empty onto the compost bin. Lost some glass from the greenhouse with all the strong winds. Not sure if to replace the glass or get rid of the greenhouse
Should be going on the walk and talk tomorrow but not sure if I'll go. The talk will probably be all about Christmas.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Good morning again.
It's sunny here, but there's a hard frost. TA, it's forecast to be milder here tomorrow, 14° apparently, but it's only for one day.
Hope you got out for your lunch yesterday.
We had a nice night in with friends last night, just chatting.
Not much going on here today, just various little jobs to do.
Hope you get things sorted with your wm Ruby, it seems to have been a bit of a saga - why on earth did that woman tell you everything was in hand when it wasn't. Maddening.
Sorry to read that your work hours have been changed Coxy, hope you can.find something else.
Hope the poorlies are picking up a bit - Taff's dh, Izzy's friend, and Gers. Also Camelot after her op.
Keep warm and safe everyone, take care.12 -
Morning allVery frosty here this morningNothing going on here. Just some housework. Contemplating whether to write my Christmas cards or not. What an exciting life I lead!Hope everyone's OK and hugs to the poodles xx11

Morning! Hard frost but sunny so far. the ongoing saga of the mortgage updating conitnues. I've phones three times now to be told there's a different problem every time. If todays problem [ apparently theyhave my date of birth wrong on a product, which wouldn't have been me as I know my date of birth thank you] then I will start getting very annoyed and have to perform my signature on someone...Otherwise I wasn't planning on doing anything today [ now have to go out though thanks to the above] , there's stuff in the freezer for supper so whatever we fancy that's already made, and I may start levelling the wood for the next step. OH is going to be off for four weeks fo his ankle to heal properly, but at least there's no operations or anything, thank god.Yorkslass, you can put milk in the frezer if you like, it goes a funny colour but it's fine once defrosted [ just in case of future forgetting ] dp1, hope the little one is ok now. SO, are you finding them helpful at all though? Ruby, hopefuly it's finally been sorted now, fancy her bald face lying to you...I'd be tempted to make a complaint...TA, you've reminded me ours need cleaning too ::sigh:: Hope all the poorlies are getting better, take care all!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8

Morning all
Lovely and sunny here though the fog is hanging over the river so a chilly walk. Very pretty though.
This will, I’m sure, make some of you chuckle……kicked something on the drive as I came home, immediate thought it was a crunchy leaf then realised it was more rigid than that. Piece of plastic I thought, how did that get there? Picked it up and it was false teeth 😂. Turns out a mate of DDs visited and had them in his pocket - had emailed DD who has been searching the sides of the sofa!Have a good day all and hang onto your teeth!

Morning all and thanks @Scarlet for starting us off. At the moment it's bright and sunny out with everything covered in frost. It looks very pretty but won't last as we're forecast light rain from early afternoon. Bizarrely, it will be warmer from early evening onwards than during the day - apparently tomorrow will be much milder than of late. One day only though!
Yesterday's grocery delivery arrived on time so now I can get on with some baking for Xmas. I'll be making my own mince pies, sausage rolls and vanilla cheesecake and might even throw in a couple of small quiches. I wrapped the presents so there's just two more small ones to buy. Who knows, by the end of this month I might have everything done! If so, that will be a 'first'.
Later in the afternoon the boots I ordered were delivered and I'm really pleased with them. I'll give them a first wearing today since I need to nip out for the milk I forgot to order
, plus a TV guide and a couple of other bits. When I get back I'll have lunch while I'm listening to you-know-what. Tea tonight is the last fish cake from the freezer that I'll have with mushy peas and some fried slices of leftover potato.
@Ruby - I'm so disappointed for you and have my fingers crossed the WM company lives up to promises to deliver on Friday.
@TA - As I get older I find most things take longer and have to pace myself but I'm grateful I can still do them! Windows and changing curtains are definitely jobs that take a few days and probably don't get done as often as they used to.
@dp1 - Enjoy Wicked today - there could be some ear-worm songs in there!
@SO - My late DF lived on a windy corner plot and often had to replace panes of glass in his greenhouse, not to mention fence panels. Eventually, he sold the greenhouse to a neighbour who lived in a less windy spot.
@-taff - Sounds like you're going to need a lot of patience with the mortgage issue. And, dare I say it, with your OH while his ankle heals! Yes, I've frozen milk in the past but my current freezer is much smaller than the last one so there's never any room in there for emergency milk. Nowadays I tend to keep a couple of cartons of long life milk in the pantry for my forgetful moments. Thanks for the suggestion though.
@AA - Lovely photos. I hope your DD's mate has been reunited with his teeth!
My late DBiL once lost his down the toilet - don't ask!
Right, time for a shopping trip so I'll leave you all with the usual wishes for a good day. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning everyone we have a hard frost but at least it’s dry I’ve just got in from a cleaning job I’m having a cuppa before I do anything I’ve rang my friend in hospital they have found her a spare pillow at last they have promised her a sling is coming this afternoon and some cream deformed her bed sores she now has she was feeling really down so I quickly made up a few funny things that have happened I may of exaggerated a bit but she was a lot more cheerful when I got off the phone. AA that made me laugh how on earth to you walk around with your teeth in your pocket.DO1 pleased the little one has been a bit better hopefully it will continue for Santa coming. Ruby I hope that washing machine comes it’s shocking service. SO I would go out for your walk I don’t think it will be all about Xmas I think everybody will just be enjoying the company.YL I’m another that finds everything takes longer I remember years ago when my hubby did night shifts he could come in from work and start decorating a room and I would take the kids to school and between us we had it finished before I picked them up not now I put my foot down and got a decorator in hubby was hoping about itching to be involved but even he agreed it would of taken us a fortnight to do what he did definitely worth the money I pace everything now and windows get done one a day and not every week. TAFF big breaths you are definitely getting your patience tested . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8
