Second home insurance when you already have a second home

Sorry for the confusing title but I'm not quite sure how else to headline my question.
My partner and I currently live in the Midlands. I also have a second home. Both have buildings and contents insurance.
I have inherited my Mum's house which has now passed through probate and is being registered under joint ownership (me and my partner) - we have decided to relocate to this house and sell our current main house.
When it was under probate I got specialist insurance, but now it is out of probate and there is clear ownership I want to know whether it can be categorised as a second home and insured as such. We are visiting it at least once a month and it's probably going to take us about a year to get the move sorted out.
Does anyone have experience of this situation or know whether it is OK to cover this house under second home insurance even though I already have a second home?

You can have any number of "second homes", probably more accurately described as secondary, whereas you arguably can only have one primary home but even that can be challenged for those splitting their time 3/4 nights in each of their two properties.1
