Replace roof felt and battens

I had the back half of my roof refelted and battens replaced 2 years ago. Cost £2800. It is a 4 bed detached built in the 60s They quoted £2500 to do the fromt as well but I was strapped for cash so didn't do it. Just had a quote for the front and it is now £3000. Plus if more than 30 tiles need replacing he says I should replace the entire front at a cost of £800.
