My mums estate comes to 309,897 with no house to sell . She has no debts but on the gov website it says her assets in the estate are 619.794 . I don’t understand why we need to pay any tax as she is under the threshold

It seems unlikely to be a coincidence that 309897 is exactly half of 619794, has the lower figure been entered twice by mistake in whatever gov website you are using?1
