Investment of £40,000

Everything is so maxed out these days that even "medium risk" seems like a high risk.
Four years is a short period of time, and at 4% savings accounts/ISAs you'll get £6400.
May as well chuck it to Premium Bonds - no risk to invested money, but risk to interests earned - as you may not get £6400 mentioned above.

Take a look at the Vanguard Life Strategy funds or any of the many similar multi-asset funds that offer a mix of stocks and bonds. They'll be something there to meet your appetite for risk.therocks64 said:Hi. We're looking at investing £40,000. We're looking to invest £40,000 over 4 years into a medium risk investment.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.1
