No issue with the caveat if my account is correct, I'm as certain as I can be.

Looking at the first HDUK link, one of the comments is showing an invoice with the charger dock listed. The invoice and order shipments I can currently still download from the Asus website does not have that line item; yes I had one received with the dock itself but as pointed out this was after the fact.

I believe preorders had opened at 1/2am, and my order was not until 9.30am so I imagine at that point they had sold out of them. I would assume that Asus have subsequently sent them out to anyone with pre-orders and not checked who added it to basket and who didn't?

I would also have no issue if Asus had said when I spoke to them on the phone to raise the initial return (and subsequent email) that a dock will be shipped and it needs to be returned - but they didn't.
Can you answer these questions please?

    Have you used the dock?
Did you ask ASUS if they would send you a prepaid label?
The dock is unused and still in cellophane wrapping.

Following the phonecall I made to them and their subsequent email, I asked ASUS for a refund or for evidence that I had purchased a bundle as they had stated. They had not offered to send me a prepaid label, but equally at that point I hadn't thought to ask. If they reply to my email and offer that, or if they still refuse my original request then I would ask, and return it if I had a prepaid label.

    ASUS could dispute a chargeback.
  • what outcome are you hoping to achieve OP?

To keep the item AND get a refund?
Or to get them to pay for and arrange collection the item?

  • Either is acceptable. Their unwillingness to engage via phone or email does make me lean towards the latter - if they'd at least acknowledge it wasn't on my invoice rather than insist I'd be more open. I will be emailing them again today to request a collection, citing the HDUK link that it was sent in error.

Let's be honest, while it might be acceptable to the OP, keep the item AND get a refund is not going to happen.
