Question Regarding Delivery on Ebay

I have an item I’ve listed as collection in person as the item is quite heavy.

Someone is interested in buying it and they asked if I could post it.  It’s a home entertainment system with a sub woofer weighing 25kg.  I said I could hand deliver it and they have agreed and a price for our time.

I’ve never done anything like this, am I doing the right thing?  I want to make sure I’m protected in case the buyer claims non receipt, also how do I stand if he says it’s not working, (it is we set it all up and videoed it working).

I just want to ensure it’s done as smoothly and correctly.  My listing states I don’t accept returns it’s for collection only.

If it makes any difference the buyer wants it delivered to his business address.

Use the ebay collection code and just treat the sale as if the buyer was collecting (even if you hand deliver).

As long as the buyer is there to give you the code (or scan it on their phone), eBay will consider the item to be delivered.

Listing "No Returns" won't stop them from raising a not as described case. Just change of mind, but that would also apply to a normal collection.
    • The rich buy assets.
    • The poor only have expenses.
    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

    How is this being paid?
Worst case scenario not sure where you'd stand if buyer claims it's faulty or mis-sold, usually ebay will want you to provide a returns label or just refund, but if the item is 'collected' it may be different.

There is the risk that they change their mind when you get there, or forget to be in at the agreed time.  If it’s only down the road from you then not a big problem.  But if you’re travelling miles it might be a waste of fuel.
