Hi all
Our family party of 7 were due to fly to Australia mid December and return Mid January. However, one of the party has had their Australian VISA revoked, for reasons I won’t go into because it’s not useful to this thread.

We have flights booked from Brisbane to Manchester in Mid January 2026 with Qatar Air.
Hopefully, Qatar will let us cancel and use for an alternative destination.
Any ideas guys where we could spend Christmas & New Year in Asia?
Thanks all

Do you have fully flexible tickets and did you book direct with Qatar Airways?FrankFalcon said:Hi all

If you booked via a third party you'll very likely find the tickets are no changes and non refundable unless you specifically booked anything other than the lowest fare.
You are also rebooking in absolute peak season.
Travel insurance will not cover you for the cancellation of a visa.
As above, great time to visit Thailand but finding accommodation this close to Christmas and New Year may be a problem.1 -
I think you need to read and check the ticket fare rules regarding refunds or reroutes first.1

We spent a month over Christmas in Oman in 2023/24 and flew with Qatar. Fantastic country. Manchester to Muscat (via Doha).1

If a visa has been refused for one country, that will normally have to be declared for any other country you are travelling to. Make sure, before you book a flight for that individual, that you aren't going to be in the same situation again.0

Click on the Asia tab if those are the destinations that you are particularly interested in.0
