Debit card due to expire

The cards in the app are pseudo cards with different details to the real card.SiliconChip said:surreysaver said:
My Chase card needed a new physical card. It was only when it started getting declined and I messaged them and told me that card had expired.flaneurs_lobster said:Just for added confusion, some bank's (well, at least Chase) debit cards do not show the expiry date/number on the card, so when the card expires the expiry date and card number are "renewed" (and can be viewed in the app) but there's no need to replace the physical card.
I asked them how I was supposed to know when its expiry date is not printed on the card and they couldn't answer
I'm a bit surprised they couldn't answer when the easy response is to say that you must have the app and the expiry date is shown there. If you only ever use the card for cardholder present transactions you might not have viewed the card details but if you ever used it for an online purchase you'd have needed the expiry date then.
Whether the expiry dates are the same or not, who knows 🤷♂️
I don't use it for online transactions, I tend to use it with Google PayI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
Just checked my Chase Debit, the card numbers differ (which I knew) but so do the expiry dates (which I didn't).surreysaver said:

When my Lloyds debit card was due to expire, Lloyds contacted me to say something along the lines of ‘you don’t use your card so unless you ask for one we won’t send one’.
I’m not sure I ever used the old one so didn’t see the point of getting a new one.0 -
I came unstuck when I wanted to move my bank account for a switch bonus, I was asked for my card details from my old bank and I could not give them as my old bank did not send me a card due to very little use, so keep that in mind.Ballard said:When my Lloyds debit card was due to expire, Lloyds contacted me to say something along the lines of ‘you don’t use your card so unless you ask for one we won’t send one’.

The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
Why did you come unstuck?trickydicky14 said:

I’ve switched bank accounts on which the debit card had previously expired so wasn’t renewed.
If you have an active debit card, you have to enter the card number. If it has expired, or you never had one, you simply tick that box.2 -
I had that - went into my local Lloyds branch with account details and my passport and got them to reissue the card.trickydicky14 said:

No issues, other than them trying to tell me "I could do it online" when you can't.
