Adidas Hell

Hi all. Purchased a pair of (rather expensive) football boots direct from Adidas (£120). 4 months in of only being used once a week both boots started to detach from the base where it looked like the glue was failing. Spoke to an Adidas rep who advised to return them under the 2 year warranty. So I did just that. They then arrived back to me a few days later with a generic letter stating my boots didn’t meet the terms and conditions of returns policy but didn’t state anything specific. When I asked an advisor they said there were signs of wear (No S**t!) and weren’t in brand new condition so were unable to be refunded. I informed them it was a warranty repair I was after, she went silent then said they’d been inspected and didn’t meet the warranty threshold as they wouldn’t be classed under a manufacturers default.
I’ve been back and forth with the complaints dept who flat out refuse to acknowledge anything wrong with the boots.
As I paid through Klarna I was told to go through them for a Section 75 equivalent. Klarna have closed that down straight away as Adidas informed them I don’t meet the T’s & C’s and Klarna refuse to challenge them on my behalf.
I now want to start a small claims court but adidas are refusing to provide an address to input into the court claim. Checking trustpilot it seems a common theme however I thought with the size of the company they’d be a little more forgiving.
Any ideas where I go from here? Do I just add their Head Office address to the court claim? Klarna have been useless too but that’s my fault for not using a credit card.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Why are you trying to claim under warranty and not your consumer rights?
You don't file a claim before you have sent them a 'Letter before action'.

Perhaps you ought to be exercising your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 rather than trying to get a remedy under warranty?

s19(14) of that legislation provides that any item that develops a fault within 6 months of purchase is legally deemed to have been faulty at purchase - unless the seller can prove otherwise.

Adidas should either repair the boots or replace them.  (Their choice, not yours).

Before doing anything else go back and explain the above to them, so that if you end up suing them you can show you did your best to explain the relevant law to them but they ignored you.

(And yes - if they do ignore you you need to do a LBA before issuing a claim - and explain in the LBA what the law is)

Looks like they are a German based company so you need to find out what your rights are in Germany.

Apologies should have mentioned I used the MSE template and emailed them a LBA as they wouldn’t give me an address also asking them to provide an address to put on the court claim but they’re flat out refusing. They also acknowledged receipt of the LBA.

What was the content of your LBA?
You seem to have made this a bit messy by trying to claim under their warranty and presumably you have referenced that in your LBA rather then trying to enforce your consumer rights.
    Also from their website:

    5.8 Applicable law and jurisdiction

The adidas Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Dutch law applies to the sales contract, to the exclusion of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). This does not affect the applicable mandatory rights under the law of your country of residence.

You may bring any dispute which may arise under these Terms and Conditions to – at your discretion - either the competent court of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, or to the competent court of your country of habitual residence if this country of habitual residence is an EU Member State, which courts are – with the exclusion of any other court - competent to settle any of such a dispute. adidas shall bring any dispute which may arise under these Terms and Conditions to the competent court of your country of habitual residence if this is in an EU Member State or otherwise the competent court of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Also the address to send the LBA to is easily found online. (Yes it's an AI result, but I searched and confirmed this using traditional methods after. It's just easier to copy and paste whaht AI has said!)
The registered office for Adidas (UK) Limited, which can be used for legal claims, is located at
The Adidas Centre, Pepper Road, Hazel Grove, Stockport, Cheshire, SK7 5SA. This is also the address used in their terms and conditions for contracts.
    • Full Address: The Adidas Centre, Pepper Road, Hazel Grove, Stockport, Cheshire, SK7 5SA.
    • Purpose: This address is the registered office for Adidas (UK) Limited, which handles legal matters.
    • Contractual Context: Contracts for purchases through the adidas UK website or app are executed with this entity, making it the correct address for legal claims related to those transactions.

Here's the companies house listing: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/01075951 for confirmation (I wouldn't trust AI).
Weirdly, someone has registered an Adidas Limited, this October, at a completely different address.  But that's a dormant company.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
