Gas fire soot build up

The third tile has turned black and it burns when the heater is in ( yes I know it's dangerous so have kept it off now)
I think the issue was the ignition would not come on without a match so I lifted the third tile to use the match but I must not have put it back properly hence why the tile has burned.
Any recommendations for someone in Nottingham who can service and fix these issues please?

If you look up the gas safe register that will give you a list of qualified engineers in your area, who will service and if necessary carry out any repairs.
Do you have a CO monitor in that room?, if not worth getting one.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0 -
Yes to the gas safe register.
I had a bloke recommended and he was on it then off it. Nice bloke, didn't know enough.
I've run 2 gas fires for decades ago not seen that so definitely go for a professional. You sometimes see their vans around and you can ask for their card.
Mind you may have to try a few or wait ages for what they see as a small job but I've twice been fitted in when they've had a cancellation or a hold up on bigger jobs.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
